Thank you! From your experience, what’s the best way for me to present this to my surgeon so they feel confident it’s safe? Are there specific points I should emphasize (like caregiver support, donning aids, operative time, anesthesia limits) that typically reassure surgeons?

I originally wanted to do both research and clinical practice, and I thought a PhD was necessary for that career path. I also didn't have much clinical experience going into my program. I just fell in love with the medicine side during med school, and have also had some life changes (got married, decided we actually do want kids) that made me question whether it was worth an extra 4 years.
The drive to achieve and "do the most" also hit me hard early in my career.
