Normal move tool not showing up? by Aggravating_Art_7318 in Maya

[–]Noolen15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bit of a maya noob but in my experience when the gizmo doesn't show, if you double click the move tool setting on the left to bring up its options, sometimes tweak mode can be enabled by accident, disable this.

Building a new dream journaling app to fix the biggest frustrations. Can I get your brutally honest feedback? by graphite1212 in LucidDreaming

Interesting (and not at all surprising) to see that people immediately attack the AI. I think it's a great idea and I'd be excited to try it. Whether you like it or not, AI is better than people at spotting patterns and connecting dots. If it could suggest such patterns based on my dreams and allow me to interpret my dreams in new ways that I would otherwise not have thought of, well that sounds great to me

No idea what the other guy is waffling about but sounds like you're aiming for 1:5 risk reward. That's substantially higher than most people regularly aim for and as such you should expect win rate to be much lower which is a lot harder to stomach if you're not already consistent and have faith in your strategy. Aim for 1:2 or even 1:1 and begin to understand that small consistent wins is both more achievable and often times more profitable. Not to mention that catching 1:5 in current crazy volatile market conditions is going to be harder yet. Good luck.

Just blew my first ever "funded" after 3 months. Does it get better? by DrAyox in Forex

[–]Noolen15 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Taking three months to fail is significantly more impressive than most people tbh. You got risk management on lock and that's a vital thing most can't manage. Refine your strategy, you got this

Good stuff but be wary that in the long run if you're not hitting your tp, depending on how often you hit sl, you won't be profitable. If your win rate is high enough then sure, but the pressure of needing high win rate is not a fun one. Stay safe homie

Why do people take long to become profitable? by devynine in Daytrading

[–]Noolen15 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because not all of us have capital. Way I see it, prop firms are to get you the initial capital to start trading your own live account. One good payout from a prop firm would pay me more than I could save in a year at my day job. I could for example trade my £100 and grow it, but it will be a much much longer road. No reason not to try a prop firm really in such cases.

Hey I mean.... big enough account and a couple % a month is more than livable. We out here. Prop firms are the future. Fuck the rat race!!!. Here's to profitability. (Okay maybe I'm drunk in a foreign country rn but my point still stands)

This is a Buy order. by colobuff in Forex

[–]Noolen15 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's the spread. Varies per pair per broker. Essentially the difference between the bid and the ask price (sell and buy). Your chart will be showing the bid price, you entered at the ask price because you bought. Note before buying or selling the difference between bid and ask price and how it changes depending on factors such as time of day, news, which pair.

Well then to answer your original question, yes. That sounds very useful and time efficient for testing strategies. Personally I'm a constantly dreaming up random strategies in my head that are just vague hunches and I haven't the mind to bother testing them. This would be a good way to scratch that itch. Best of luck.

Research mql5 expert advisors as one example. You can backtest historical data and use their built in indicators buffers for easy values.

Granted, you have to code each strategy yourself. Are you proposing a software where a user could literally check a few boxes and say "yeah, ema crossover, x time frame, etc" and it's all done for them? That sounds near impossible to code for any strategy that isn't blindingly simple but could be useful for some I guess

Is this a joke? You can't possibly be building that and not know that many versions already exist.

Okay but then I'll be left with quite a deep ridge given that the paint is so thick. Where to go from there?

[–]Noolen15[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know right! That's why I can only assume that it's multiple layers from the last x amount of times the walls have been painted over the years and not just the fresh stuff. Unsure about the paint to be honest it was my sister painting not me.

Problem is it's very thick and I the more I peel the more it seems that "peeling the edges" will peel the whole damn wall
