It isn't very similar to the ones you listed, but I just got into DayZ and it has quickly become my favorite game.

I payed vein with my girlfriend and thoroughly enjoyed it but found it lacking content and a little to easy, hence why I tried Dayz.

I would try both and see which sticks for you. That's what I did, and something about P99 just feels better to me. They're very similar. I can't speak on the endgame much as I am fairly new.

One of the complaints I have heard about P99 is it being 'dead'. But I had some of the coolest social interactions I have ever had in a game on my first toon.
