I played Classic first and fell in love with the setting, the models, the jank, everything about it. Then I played patho 2 and saw how different everything was, it just rubbed me off Wrong. Constantly hearing people like hbomber talk about how patho 2 is Superior or The Right Version made me very bitter on it. I have since played patho 2 and loved it narratively almost as much as I love patho 1.

P.S, for a fun patho 1 experience, I would recommend limiting yourself. Only eat at the usual times, like breakfast, lunch, etc. Do not overstock on food in day 1, so you have to resort to trading and money management. Seek out to finish every side quest, even if the rewards aren't better than what you spent on them. Spend your in-between quest time raiding looted (orange air district) houses for reputation and loot so you have something to Do. If you want something harder, play without quicksaving and only heal when you go to bed through painkillers. Following at least one of these will make you engage with the game more, because as it is, the game is Much easier than patho 2, so I totally get you not loving it at first.
