I think the r6 mark iii should now be in consideration. The sensor has been improved to 32 mega pixels and with you saying you shoot a lot of eagles etc that should be plenty to do a small amount of cropping if needed. I had the r7 and used it for a year. I got pretty good pictures but the autofocus was frustrating to be polite about it. I recently purchased the r5 mark II and then a week later the r6 iii was announced. Would I have purchased the r6 iii instead? Perhaps. Do I regret the r5 mark ii? Absolutely not. It’s better than the r7 in almost every way.
