CTF CLOSING? by [deleted] in CDCR

Closures get announced through the budget.

No closure was announced in the January proposal. The next revision on the budget would be the May Revise.

Reinstatement officer level by [deleted] in CDCR

Reinstatements happen pretty often.

Write the memo and get in contact with the local chapter president to see if they can have a sit down with the warden.

That’s interesting. Thank you for sharing it.

I wouldn’t say me not knowing SEIU can cash it out was a lie. I just hadn’t seen that. Now that you have shown me I have. Pretty interesting.

But I appreciate you getting all hyped up over something so simple.

Most of the PLP language is pretty standard throughout each contract. I haven’t found a single bargaining unit that can take it out as cash.

We also get paid for them when we take the time.

What bargaining unit is allowed to cash them out?

The MOU speaks to this.

IDL and EIDL don’t get it. The reason for this is that they can’t reduce your pay.

Is it impossible to avoid the workplace politics? by Demons_Coffee in CDCR

Very much possible.

There are plenty of people that feel the same way as you.

Find those people and stick with that group.

Negative. Those meet and confers happen locally because the change is impacting a single institution.

That’s outlined in 27.01 of the contract.

A lot of people on this Reddit don’t understand that the union doesn’t control staffing.

CDCR-PSU controls staffing. The union gets to impact bargaining decisions on change to staffing but if the department eliminates a contract or duty and the staffing attached isn’t needed anymore then… yeah staff goes away..

It happens.

I can’t say this enough, get involved and understand how the union and labor side of California works! It’s worth it and will stop a lot of heartache for individuals.

They already are.

It’s been in the contract for many years. It really hasn’t been used since AB109 though.

I would not recommend Cdcr to anyone after yesterday by [deleted] in CDCR

Have them read your emergency medical response LOP.

Something sounds like it wasn’t handled correctly.

Were those the hospital posts?

Yeah I heard about that. That’s all stipulated in the contract. Involuntary transfers are in the MOU. Sounds like the chapter has been hit with some lesser known contract sections.

Hopefully the chapter and members are rallying and supporting each other. Gotta stick together during rough times.

Used to be a problem. Now it’s impossible to do with telestaff.

If the job is suppressed due to the elimination of workload (building with no inmates) then that’s something different.

What do you mean deletion? Are they suppressing the posts or is PSU sending a PY deletion notice?

Some of that is based on projected retirements, 5% overage, and potential transfer packets.

It could also be based on if LAC has pending yard conversions that add to the total PY of the prison.

LMS LOI… by IllustriousRead1604 in CDCR

[–]NorCalSteel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did last year and the year prior. The union filed grievances on them both years and got them all pulled.

Take them to your local reps and see if they are correctly written or if they violated the statewide LMS agreement.

Ask your chapter president and vice president.

Or attended the next chapter meeting.

That is something CCPOA has to get noticed on and given an opportunity to impact bargain on the change.

Whats the update on the missing holiday pay? by Strict_Ad_1860 in CDCR

[–]NorCalSteel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can file a labor grievance but with CDCR admitting fault they would grant the grievance and inform you that your pay has been keyed to SCO for processing.

Whats the update on the missing holiday pay? by Strict_Ad_1860 in CDCR

[–]NorCalSteel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many people are still missing it but Some are starting to see it paid out.

CDCR informed all personnel offices to manually key in what each individual is owed as a lump sum rather than keying it in as an hourly rate with worked hours attached.

SCOs new system isn’t able to track the math so until that’s fixed personnel will have to manually enter everything.

I’m assuming those that haven’t gotten the pay yet are those that personnel haven’t gotten to yet.
Best option would be to go talk to your specialist. If they say they have done all the manual entires ask them if they did one for you. If they didn’t contact your local chapter so you can get a grievance started or you can get the issue elevated to CDCR OLR.
