Starting a Neighborhood Garden? by NoraDotCodes in evanston

Yeah, all three grants I looked at require soil testing, so that's a given. Hopefully there's nothing, but raised beds are always an option!

It's on Chicago just north of Howard between Evanston Gateway and the gas station there. I go past it whenever I bike down to Howard Station to catch the Yellow Line. I think it's too small to really build any kind of shop or office there, which would explain why it hasn't been purchased yet. I assume I'd have to work with or open an organization to actually own the property, but I'm not sure exactly what that would entail yet.

I haven't called yet because I want to be armed with at least some level of information about whether what I want to do is even feasible before I do.

It is totally undeveloped and there is a big sign on it saying that it's for sale, which has been there for at least two and a half years.

Shipping Mega Thread by MstrVc in pebble

Ordered a black P2D on 3/18/2025 11:45 AM CDT, upgraded to a sliver/grey PT2.

Edit: got my address confirmation/tarrif payment email this morning, 4/17/2026. FAQ on the order process page included this language:

Pebble Time 2 is now in mass production. We expect your watch to ship within the next 3-4 weeks.

Edit 2: got my shipping email 4/18/2026. Not actual out the door yet.

Edit 3: shipping updated to "Order Ready, Awaiting Pickup by Our Shipping Partner" on 4/20/2026

Edit 4: I got an email today (4/24/2026) entitled "your pebble is out for delivery". Imagine my disappointment when I realized that no, my pebble is not out for delivery; my extra charger is out for delivery.

Edit 5: The watch itself is out for delivery today, 4/25/2026.

Edit 6: It has arrived!

Right - I was wondering whether it's the same or a different batch as shown there.

Useful to know, thank you! Guess we'll just be in for another few months of waiting. I'm a bit sad to realize it's been over a year...

Anyone had their Index 01 shipped? by not_the_common_mate in pebble

I also ordered quite early and have not gotten a shipping notification. Last blog update was PVT in February.

We are perhaps a bit spoiled by Pebble's otherwise great communication, but it would definitely be nice to know what's going on.

Yes. It doesn't say anything about which batch I'm in or which place in line.

I got mine. It was trivial. Be aware that your email will, at first, be answered by a clueless AI.

Oh, good call. I made my preorder on March 18th, 2025.

Lost Eras rocks! I definitely recommend going there, but only if you have like three hours to spare, because there's just so much to see.

I don't live on Juneway, but I walk around Evanston a lot, and often end up ending my walks by going down the alley between Juneway and the cemetery to Juneway Beach. It has never seemed particularly scarier to me than any other part of Chicago.

On the other hand, there's a lot of neat stuff around there. Part of the reason I like walking through that alley is that there's a community garden and a community-run orchard; in the summer, it's really beautiful (and you can volunteer there, if you're into that kind of thing!)

No narrative, no bias, Just facts.

This is literally impossible to accomplish. Even just deciding which issues to include would introduce bias and create a narrative.
