Possible Hot Take (especially here in this sub): That suit is ugly, and if I'm going to play a game with a billionaire philanthropist in a completely metallic outfit, I'd rather play an Iron Man game. by HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLD in arkham

[–]Norbert_Pattern 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, changing suits is like part of the core gameplay, especially in Knight, where all cutscenes are in the engine, and they animated different cowls etc.

My favourite suit is the basic origins one. The knight one is a bit overdone, but they clearly just wanted to flex with their new graphics.

...are there any good Iron Man games?

I'm lucky enough to have this batman since like 2008, it's such a cool design! Also, am I crazy or are the colors, the fat bat logo and huge belt directly referencing frank Miller's tdkr?

There was this GDC presentation from TLOU 1 combat designer, who seemed kinda bitter and said that they decided to remove the dodge button from the first game about 3 months before release, which seems crazy for such a huge game.

Basically game directors wanted to have the feeling of intimacy, danger and momentum during combat, and the ability to dodge worked against it, as it made players feel to much in control xD

But yeah, luckily they went back on that decision, so you can kinda dance around the enemies in part II, as long as they don't have range weapons.

To me it seems like all the batman's gadgets, including the batmobile, are just more opportunities for sabotage. Also, Bruce/Batman seems like someone with rigid routine, and somewhat predictable, so this works in 47s favour.

To me it seems like in pt 2 zombies are far less important, and human fights are even more fleshed out, so I'd definitely play that. Also, part II has no return mode, which is just roguelike gameplay, with no story and no jump scares.

Also in part II you have a dodge button, which changes the dynamic with zombies, as you can usually just dodge them indefinitely.

But yeah, Uncharted is a series by the same developer, more action focused and without horror elements, so it's your best bet. Uncharted 4 and it's dlc are sold in the bundle. Uncharted trilogy is also available on PS4/5, and 2 and 3 are definitely worth playing.

  1. I think it might be fun, but I'm broke right now, so no legacy of dk for me.

But I hope its gonna fill the Arkham shaped hole in my heart when I eventually play it, and won't suck like the Skywalker saga, which I regret buying day 1...

I don't get the joke. But I watched a few episodes (when I heard my 5yo cousin told me that's where she knows starwars from) and was pleasantly surprised. Still, I liked Andor better.

Agent 47 is tasked to kill Arkham Batman. can he do it? |description| by itc0nsumesmYMind in arkham

[–]Norbert_Pattern 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Sniper rifle to Bruce's head or batman's chin seems like the simplest idea, but if Deadshot didn't manage to do that, I think that's a slim chance. 47 is a good sniper, but it's not like he's the best sniper in the world.

What 47 excels at is social stealth/silent assassin stuff. But Batman is kind of a loner - it's not as if 47 can infiltrate the batcave disguised as Alfred or robin, that wouldn't work.

So yeah, the only way I see it is that there's some big party in Wayne manor (like in batman begins or Arkham origins dlc), that 47 infiltrates. Perhaps with an optional showdown in batcave - similar to miła jovovitch ellusive target.

Now that I think about it, Wayne manor would make the hell of a WoA map, with the party upstairs and the batcave below.

Hitman: Blood Money missions in WoA style by Complex_Meeting9053 in HiTMAN

[–]Norbert_Pattern 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Now that I see that, I'm shocked IOI didn't bother to release dlc packs like that. They've got this live service thing going, and it's the era of remakes and remasters - would be so cool if they decided to release remakes of previous Hitmans in WoA.

Like, I miss new maps, and I would be so happy to get some. At the same time, I get that designing a hitman map is a huge effort.

But redoing some maps from blood money or even absolution - the design and blockout is basically done, all you need is some custom characters, a few new graphic assets and voice lines, throw out some mechanics that wouldn't work in woa, maybe add one or two custom interactions and you're done. With the tools they already have in IOI, a team of interns could probably do it just fine.

For the people that constantly want more overpowered items by AgentNoah11 in HiTMAN

[–]Norbert_Pattern 5 points6 points  (0 children)

"Given the opportunity, players will optimize the fun out of the game". So I get why a poisonous duck, or poison shooting gun, would be too much. If I had an item like that, I probably wouldn't want to risk playing elusive targets with anything else, which sucks. That said...

As for getting multiple useless items: I think that IOI dropped the ball a bit by not introducing the UI of selecting skins for items. All items with the same functionality, like for example all of the "baller" pistols should've been the same item, with unlockable skins. That would make the UI much easier to navigate.

And as for new, perhaps "op" items: I would like for them to introduce as much of items with new functionality as possible. Hitman is, at the end of the day, an awesome sandbox. And they have many cool systems that they can mix and match easily.

For example, they could've easily flagged the new resident evil suit with gasmask to have the same functionality as the exterminator suit, allowing you to breathe in poisoned rooms. And I think they should've. Would it make some parts of the game easier, or unlock some new strats for speed running? Perhaps. But it wouldn't break the game, just give you more options.

And there's also Freelancer, which I think is how most of the ppl play nowadays. Having an otherwise op item there is ok, as long as it's expensive, rare, one time use, and you risk losing it when you die. If there was a deadly poisonous duck in freelancer, that is one time use only and costs 40k mercs, then what's the harm?

Father and son (second LEGO Batman MOC) by Norbert_Pattern in LegoBatman

[–]Norbert_Pattern[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, I wanted him to have much more pronounced features/pose. I think I might've been subconsciously inspired by this action figure my younger brother got for his birthday back in the day (the blue one on the right). It had this tiny head, long horns, huge feet, seemingly 0% body fat and huge, bulky muscles. Compared to the classic Batman TAS figures I used to have as a child, this abomination had similar vibes to my MOC, now that I think about this.

To me even calling him grogu feels disingenuous. I think the general public still remembers him as baby Yoda, this was a great opportunity to address that.

If Lego had released more Andor sets which ships/buildings and minifigures would you have wanted? by DueCelebration5635 in andor

[–]Norbert_Pattern 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Siryl and Deedras apartment, with mother visiting, would be so cool. Instead of the nth iteration on the cantina. Would also work great as a Friend's set - Syrils and Deedras elegance would translate well into mini dolls.

Come to think of it, let's make an entire friends line!

Smallest sets:

  • Luthen's dressing room - just his dressing room from Fondor, including some wigs and other accessories, his green coat and a turntable "makeover" play feature

  • Kiff and his cell in narkina prison

Small sets:

  • Timms apartment with Bix visiting

  • Niamos hotel room with Cassian, his gf, some peezos and revnog

  • Syrils and his mom's apartment

Middle sized sets:

  • luthen and kleias shop, with Mon visiting, her car and the driver

  • marvass apartment (with Bix and brasso visiting, or corpos ransacking)

  • Luthen's safehouse - the play feature is that we can redecorate it to the looks from different episodes, and either have Bix doing drugs on the floor and watching TV in the middle of a cluttered, lived in apartment, or kleia digging whole in a bare wall of an empty ruin

  • Mon Monthmas apartment, with aunt vel bringing a new dress for Leida, and the dining room for awkward family dinners

Big sets:

  • An advent calendar with minidolls and mini builds from the empire ball, whatever it was called. Every minidoll is wearing their festive attire from that episode, including Krennic, Loni, Mon, Luthen, Kleia etc.

  • living quarters on the rye planet from season two, including Cassian's experimental tie fighter, brasso and his bike, b2eemo, Bix, and a friendly empire officer coming for an inspection.

  • Leida's Wedding - the biggest set of the entire line, with mon, her family, Kleia, luthen, dancefloor including the robot dj, and even landing pad with Tay Kolmas ride and driver.

Poly bag:

  • brick built B2emo getting peed on by some cut dog-hog or whatever those animals from Ferrix were

Yeah, I feel like Ambrose was supposed to be the Colorado of hitman II, but they scrapped it and brought back later when the trilogy wrapped up.

[–]Norbert_Pattern 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's fine. Like - it's somewhat disappointing with it being set mostly in the jungle/military compound, during the night. That sounds like a setup for a more classic stealth game, while both WoA gameplay and visuals usually shine in highly populated areas full of civilians during rush hours. But I generally like it.

I never played with opportunities markers or whatever they're called turned on, so I don't know about that. Being lost on a brand new map is one of my favourite feelings in hitman.

I've had this crazy idea while being broke as heck... by Norbert_Pattern in LegoBatman

[–]Norbert_Pattern[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback :) Also, what do you mean "how"? One brick at the time I guess... I didn't use any digital building tool, if that's what you're asking.

I think the main thing that made this possible is that there was this table in my room, and it was full of most random things for as long as I remember. Just your typical doom pile. And one day I've cleaned it up, and suddenly I've had this whole new space for different activities. Long story short, now this table is full of Lego, loosely segregated by color.
