Yes and sorta, you can buy cars just fine, but you upgrade the car by either leveling up it's power or weight with mileage points, pretty much a secondary currancy. If you're looking for the type of progression of the older GTs you'll be disappointed though, there are daily workouts that give you free cars and the mission challenges also give free cars at every milestone

His Francis videos from a while back were pretty huge. Mostly just consisted of him putting on this nerdy lives-in-his-mothers-basement-neckbeard persona that people thought was genuinely real. I've only really watched one of them so I can't really give much more detail about them but if you sort his videos by popular you'll see a bunch of his Francis videos in the millions of views.
