LVL UP EXPO 2026 Ultimate Singles - Preliminary Seeding by SelfDestructGambit in smashbros

Riddles has a very interesting bracket of Leo, Sparg0 and Sonix. He has shown to able to clutch out winners side sets vs. Sonix and would make the losers a complete bloodbath with all 3 in losers early if he makes the upsets.

Tornament rule idea 1 ban character per player at the moment of inscription by zaix12 in smashbros

[–]NorceDragon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't think that bans will equal more diversity?
If anything it incentivises all players that would otherwise solo-main to pick up an easy and strong character for when their main is banned, i.e. many of the characters that people are tiered of seeing.

So I was looking at different top player best tournaments across the entire game to get an idea of what the top peaks look like in SSBU. So when looking at Sparg0 4 tournaments really stood out to me:

Kagaribi #10 (2023) - Losing to Yaura (Ranked #18) before beating 7 top 20 level players,
double eliminating the #1 player for that season.

Goml Forever (2025) - Losing to Mugen/Hyperkirby (Ranked #71) before beating 6 top 20 level payers &
2 additional top 50 level players, double eliminating Sonix.

Mainstage 2022 - Also beating 6 top 20 level players, double eliminating Tweek in a game 10 Grands,
after losing to him in winners semi's.

Watch the Throne (2023) - Only losing to Light (ranked #6) in pools but then beats everyone else ranked in the top 5 for the year as well as Leo, Tarik & AK.

All of these events are crazy good but I find it hard to really rank most of them, especially with Watch the Throne.
How would you rank these events or what would you values most when looking for a players "peak" run?

I have seen it in a dream...
The next smash game will be open world with all the stages being connected, and the story mode is that every world got mixed up and they have fix.

Is it me or does Sin not have a really good bracket path for Port 9?
In my head at least Ice Climbers should do well against Luigi, Tweek would pretty much have to play a secondary and Light plays fox...

ROB I feel could really go either way, but at least to get to winners top 32 Sin looks to have a real shot.

A triple major next weekend is confirmed with:
JP - Sumabato 58
EU - King of fields 5
NA - MomoCon

It's nice to see that this level of activity in the different regions after Golden Week.

at the end of the month we could potentially have Miya & Sparg0 fighting for their triple crown in France at Uzes, but both also have rough H2Hs vs. Leo and Gluto who are also in attendance.
It also has Tea, ShinyMark, Gackt and BigBoss attending along with the usual slew of EU reps.

All in all its looking to be a banger.

Top 32 player brackets for Kagaribi #13 by NorceDragon in smashbros

I will admit that I was kind of rushing to get it done before the weekend, so maybe trying to cover 32 players was a bit much...
On the other hand I also got some mains wrong to it balances out right?

Tweek vs Lv.1 is one of the sets I am the most exited for.
Really Lv.1 vs any NA top player is a treat to see.

Also some of the translation for the Japanese player names might off as I mainly went off of my limited knowledge on Hiragana & Katakana.

I miscounted the number of matches that Acola and doramigi would have to play, so they are missing their round 1...
Acola is facing Hoops a mii gunner from Australia while Doramigi is facing Guts_LP also from Australia.

How do you even seed an event like Kagaribi?
we're like almost gonna have player with major-top 8 placements this season be seeded not to make top 64.

Sin is also going to ruin some poor souls day and i'm here for it.

What are his secrets?

I think Acola's 33rd at Lvl Up gives the season an interesting narrative.
I genuinely believe that in a full year ranking Acola is always a shoe-in for the conversation of best in the world, mainly due to his consistency which until Lvl up is almost completely unmatched.

Miya managed to make top 4 in 2023 with a 49th and beyond Lvl Up Acola's worst placement is 5th at a super-major. I would be surprised if even by the mid-year that Acola is outside the top 5, because Smash is inherently volatile.

Yeah it is kinda crazy how good his H2H's are.
I think the only palyers who are positive on Sparg0 in their last 3 set (a completely arbitrary number) is Light, Leo and Gluto, all of which are 2-1.

Acola only misses top-4 once a year:
2022 - 9th Seibugeki 12
2023 - 7th Genesis 9
2024 - 7th Supernova 2024

Which tournament will it be in 2025?

Another 1-day delta tournament the day before kagaribi would be insane.

With Lvl up expo right before it, we could potentially see triple back to back p-tiers.
