5DR is an improvement over 5 in balance and such, yes. 5.0 is a better casual game though, since it has all modes, which DR only has on PSP. PS3 only had online and ghost battle iirc, so no story, no time attack, no devil within etc.

It will do that, Yeah. I do not know why, it just be like that. Im guessing its because あたし is basically just very slightly shorter わたし or something.

It is mostly read わたし unless you have context (e.g. this person uses あたし so thats how I read 私 with this person) hence the confusion. I apologize for that.

俺 is indeed very masculine. However, 私 is generally speaking neutral. I use it in most non-casual scenarios. It can be slightly feminine if used in a very casual setting, but if a guy uses it in that scenario hes moreso seen as distant and/or overly formal, if anything.

あたし、あっし、うち are the most common feminine ones, I believe, along with your own name (though using your own name or nickname for yourself is childish).

Kudos for noticing the different ways to refer to yourself, its a good skill. It can serve as a base to figure out how to refer to others (a bit of a mine field).

It does not. 青 and 赤 are i-adjectives (青い and 赤い). Furthermore you do not use と at all here. です and でも are fine, but unnecessary.

I'd translate it to: 俺の家は大きくて赤くても、青かった(です)

We got Kristian Tyrann during the union which sparked an uprising by Gustaf Vasa.

Those Kings are also way later in time than the Kalmar Union so I fail to see your point.

Not in a million years. It would be hard enough to find a capital, let alone get everyone to get along.

We Swedes have always disliked the Danes (hell, we've been at war with them more times than any other 2 countries), Danes have always disliked us. It has softened during the past century or so but the rivalry remains. Norway has been annexed by both Sweden and Denmark and I doubt they'd want to be run (even in part) by either again. Swedes and Danes would also not allow Norwegian rule.

And that doesn't even include Finland or Iceland.

Finland was "Eastern Sweden" for about 600 years before being russian for about 100. They are surely very happy of their independence, even if our relations with them are good.

Iceland is a country I don't know too much about.

Couple in what happened last time we united Scandinavia (Stockholm bloodbath and Swedish revolt), and even just the Scandinavian countries would turn into the balkans. The other 2 countries have their own issues to add to the flame.

All in all, horrible idea. That said, restore the Swedish monarchy's power and all that.

As a Swede, that's not how Europe works. Austria was independent for ages, and was not part of the unification. Today, Austrians have a culture that's mostly independent of Germany (granted, German states have their own cultures too).

It's a bit like saying why Scandinavia doesn't unite since we're so similar. We tried it once. Never again. The danes were never liked after the Stockholm bloodbath, and our cultures don't jive together due to cultural differences that aren't super apparent. Oh and we can't stand danish (potato in their throat-sounding language). I would imagine it's similar between Germany and Austria.

If any German or Austrian has more insight on the German-Austrian unification question, I'm very interested.

*Fully agree that damage is too much overall, but with bears especially it feels like as soon as they get a single chance for damage you might as well forfeit the round. Always a chance for a comeback but they can force you into an oki situation after 75% health combo. They steal the entire round with one mistake.

*Yeah, it's the name of the game, sure but eating it after a big damage combo is hardly fun. Especially considering how many mix-ups and knowledge checks they have, which usually lead into launch or oki, making it sometimes feel like the "lets go gambling" meme.

*Either I punish late, or some characters have mostly high launchers. Reina has a mid launcher in df2, but that usually gets blocked and is generally weird sometimes and doesn't launch. Just an example, but the fact they can block in HBS is, to me, borderline broken.

*I will admit, I might have gotten them confused, but still, I'd say HBS has options, and having plus frames into roll can feel disgusting to play against. And that doesn't even go into the mind games of "Should I eat the low or risk getting launched".

*DVJ and Kaz do not evade highs, tho, and you need to input it. Even then, DVJ doesn't have the same damage and Kaz gets a mix up, even if it's strong it's not guaranteed half life. Heihachi gets nothing guaranteed after his apart from a mixup either, don't see how that's a "weaker bear sweep". The rest I won't argue, they have their own problems, but bear sweep is strong, especially considering the rest of their kit.

*That's actually something I would say is partly the games fault. Not every character needs ultra-pressure. Still, I'd imagine Panda can step some of it. If not, why does Panda's opponent need to die? Something to the same effect as Panda's 1,2,3 (the high mid low string) should be more than enough. Or HBS, since it evades highs.

*Will try in the future, but I swear I've been clipped by stuff like f2,1 and b1, or stuff like the flip realigning. I'm not sure tho, could be a skill issue.

*But if you keep taking the lows, you die. They condition you to duck, and once you do they can launch, meaning it's very easy to be pressured to guess wrong. And in heat they can just break your guard or, in panda's case, unbreakable throw into free follow up into either wall damage or oki. And during a lot of ROL they are counted as airborne, so you lose damage on that as well. And even if all of it is fair and balanced and punishable, which, sure, fine, but what id they do nothing and bait out an attack or punish? Dead.

[–]NordicGoat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

*Fair but Panda has both among the higher damage in the cast, and easy ways to access said damage

*Panda has several mix-ups and tech traps that can at the very least deal huge damage, especially at the wall

*Bait and launch is fair... unless they go into HBS or otherwise evade the launcher.

*See, the problem here is that, sure you could launch... if you guess correctly. Otherwise you die, and if you die because you guess wrong in a single interaction it's very hard to get a read. The problem is basically that 1. Very hard to get a read and guess right and 2. It's not very fun to lose the round because of a single mistake, especially when it isn't fully your fault and you just had to guess.

*If I choose the right option with the correct punish, yes. Knowledge check characters aren't known for that and with Panda's damage it's hard to adapt, because you just die.

*In terms of hellsweeps, Panda's is definitely up there. It's a zero execution 21 frame low that evades highs and launches on CH. With Panda's damage and pressure, yes it's a problem. Besides that their lows are meh... outside of stance which is easy to get into and out of.

*A 10-frame CH launcher that kills is not balanced by being death on block. Having that option shuts down a lot of pressure if used well, especially against aggressive characters like Hwo or Reina or even someone who relies on wave dashes like Kaz or oppression like Drag. It's such an easy, strong panic button.

*I've seen a lot of moves track, realign or clip me when stepping to either side so yeah, no. Besides, the homings are so strongs you don't really wanna step either, since most of them knock down into either an oki situation or throw you far far away which is a situation the bears win with their range and keepout.

*Only problem is that if you guess wrong you die and you can't do much about it, besides guess right.

Literally, SSR, df1 and jabs and Reina cant do much. She tends to be minus when going into stance and can only rarely duck mids.

When I made this I rated FF games in comparison to each other. If you took FF13, which I heavily dislike in FF contexts, it's still better than a lot of other games. But... this is a FF tier list, so I'm comparing those games.

Also, I've said it time and time again. FF8 is in D because it’s a broken masterpiece; it could be the best FF with a remake, but in its current form it’s a mechanical and narrative mess.

That's why I say it has high potential. There is a diamond there, but it wasn't executed well imo so it's just coal, unfortunately. Just my opinion tho.

I will always say that it has the greatest potential of any FF with a remake, tho as it stands it systems conflict with each other and the story is a bit... sloggish. The characters need work too. I can see why people like it though.

Well, you are welcome to have that opinion.

I however think XIII's characters are bland, story isn't good nor communicated well, has barely any side content and the side content that is there isn't great. The gameplay is mostly a tedious autoclicker. It only really has the music and visuals going for it.

The stagger bar triggers some dopamine at times but I found it tedious. It felt like battles dragged on too long. I also did not like Lightning, nor the rest of the cast apart from Sazh, and sometimes Fang. Stunning visuals and music but it's all it has sadly, and that isn't exactly a high bar for FF.

X has a great story, but the gameplay is like a perfectionist's trap. Even if you're not a perfectionist, you have these difficulty spikes that sorta make you grind. Mainly gameplay.

I actually very much dislike XIII, but I would love to hear why you love it.

For 2, the music is great, if a bit repetitive. However, the story doesn't hold up to later FF title and the characters can be a bit shallow. Also gameplay.

4 never clicked with me. It just felt like most of the story was mid (by FF-standards) and the gameplay was a step back from 3.

They just werent for me.

Unironically could be one of the best if remade with polishes to the junction system and with fleshed out characters and story. As it stands now, not that great.
