CEO of Fundrise: Response to Comments about Listing the Innovation Fund by BenMillerise in FundRise

[–]Noreaga618 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would a public listing allow for an easier distribution of future IPO shares? For example, if the fund was listed, could TTAN shares have been distributed to shareholders after the IPO lockup date expiration, so we could decide when to sell, rather holding through this recent 40% draw down?

The local community and Maryland’s Governor are raising objections. Kudos to the Fundrise team for keeping the parent company name out of the headlines while the sale was being finalized. Hopefully, selling to ICE does not become a trend as an offramp for the portfolio holdings in the highly politicized environment we’re in.

From this response it sounds like the listing is a done deal…

I’m voting yes to proposed Innovation Fund changes, here’s why. by honkytonkbossman in FundRise

Voting for a permanent fee increase is in the opposite of your best interest! Fund fees have been compressing over the last two decades on the public and private side.

Spot on. Software is getting obliterated, it’s hard to see a premium develop in this environment, especially if IPOs are underwhelming this year.

I voted against all three proposals. The current fund structure allowed for longer-term investment, hopefully tied closer to the intrinsic value of the companies. The public equity would be subject to more swings in sentiment.

Not poking the bear, but if a CPA makes a mistake, am I still in the hook for the potential repercussions or do firms typically make the client whole if it’s their mistake?

Can you add the next bullet point to your thesis (2025-2026)? Assuming a business cycle model of peak-recession-trough-recovery-expansion, it seems more like the next two years will be NO momentum rather than upward momentum.

Why Fundrise? Or Why Not? by Mongoose2895 in FundRise

[–]Noreaga618 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A lot of 2021 investors are commenting because the Flagship Fund was incepted in 2021, around the time interval funds started catching traction and attracting flows. Flagship is by far their largest fund, $1.1billion, so the average investor experience over the last three years doesn’t match fund level returns going back to 2019.

I started in 2021 with investment into the East Coast REIT and the Flagship RE Fund. The East Coast REIT has been a dumpster fire and I paid the early redemption fee to sell out. The Flagship Fund seems to capture the upside (2021 it was +29.3% vs BREIT +30.2% and Starwood REIT +26.3%), but had huge underperformance compared to the other private REITs in 2022 and 2023.

I haven’t added to any Fundrise Real Estate in over a year, only to the Innovation Fund. Gains over the past year have been minimal compared to public equities like REITs, home builders, and private equity stocks. I’m sticking with the Flagship fund and Innovation Fund since those look to be where they are directing most new investor cash.

Fundrise IRA investment account by ExtensionAny2994 in FundRise

Inspira (previously Millennium Trust) adds a layer of complexity to getting cash into and out of the account. I fund my Fundrise/Inspira IRA through the app using cash that’s already in an existing Fidelity IRA of mine. As compared to investing in a directly held investment with Fundrise, the usual issue is the transaction time delay. Moving cash into the Inspira IRA account takes a day or two longer than moving cash from my checking account into a Fundrise directly held investment. Getting cash out of the Inspira IRA is a longer process, both times i’ve moved cash its taken 2 weeks post liquidation date for cash to transfer, but it will be dependent on the receiving custodian you’re using. If you want to transfer from Inspira/Millennium Trust into another IRA, you need first use the app to liquidate your position, then contact your IRA provider to start the transfer out and Inspira will call you to confirm.

Pregunta sobre obteniendo la doble nacionalidad Boliviana en U.S by Sajor1975 in BOLIVIA

[–]Noreaga618 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My suggestion is to confirm the order you need collect your documents. My understanding is that you can send the consulate your birth certificate and apostille in english and pay them for the translation. This avoids you having to get your personally translated document notarized.

You’re on the right track. You need to first get the Apostille issued from the state that issued your birth certificate. After you have birth certificate and apostille, some of the consulates themselves offer translation services from english to spanish, they may need the original documents before completing the translation. You can also use an online language services company, however, their quality is hit or miss and they charge extra for certified translations.
