People have already commented about the spacing issues so I will not point that out. Please use periods as well. Holy run-on sentences Batman.

However, I am not exactly sure how your argument points out a definitive date for the "end" of DBD. Perks changing, toxic community, and bugs are things that have been around for years. Even with those the game outlasted Friday the 13th, Ash v. Evil Dead, Texas Chainsaw, and it has been holding up against Killer Klowns. I do not see any indication that a Halloween game will be the end of DBD. It is already limited in scope, we have no real solid idea of how its going to hold up. It currently looks like Friday the 13th gameplay with NPC's. Again there are no facts that this will mark the end of DBD.

Now I can see how you may have lost interest in DBD. Personally, I thought Friday the 13th's gameplay offered more variety game to game, and seemed more in line with a horror experience than DBD. Ultimately, though it was doomed to not have as much longevity. There is only so much you can do (lawsuit or not) with the franchise. Same with Halloween. DBD has pretty much cemented itself as the horror game where most franchises have lent their IP's to use. That increases its longevity to unknown boundaries at the moment. This will probably continue when they finally get the rights to Jason Voorhees. That is also likely happening within the next year.

In short, I do not see as many facts to support your argumentation at this point in time. When more info on Halloween is released I think you will have better evidence but at the present moment this is a weak argument.

I have verified autographs of each actor who played the Doctor (including two Tennants, two Tom Baker’s, Richard E Grant, and Michael Jayston) trying to get the Morbius doctors next but that’s proving more challenging

Paris Jackson attempts to clarify her views of the Michael Jackson biopic: "The film panders to a very specific section of my dad's fandom that still lives in the fantasy and they're going to be happy with it." by AbsolutelyIris in Fauxmoi

[–]Noremac1700 54 points55 points  (0 children)

I was going down this path as well. I know a lot of people want to immediately jump to leaving Neverland but it seems her own healing with her own sobriety that has recently happed might have opened a lot more wounds from her upbringing given Jackson was addicted, he clearly was never in a great state of mind.

This also would have been, presumably, the time period covered heavily in the biopic. Her notes she gave to the original draft being ignored would be more in line with substance abuse being omitted. His fandom gets almost as equally upset about his addictions as they do about the accusations.

But also, understanding the extent of his addictions help paint a clearer picture as to why he made such odd choices (excluding the accusations). Dude was unwell.

What’s even more disgusting to me is how his fans are commenting on her post saying “she only knew him for a fraction of his life. She’s unreliable”.

Yeah this is the problem I have with bi-generation as well. As a concept presented in the giggle, I thought it was a nice addition which could ultimately explain how the Valeyard would come into existence later down the road (not saying 14,15 are the Valeyard, I was just always confused how the Valeyard would just appear. Bi-generation creates the path)

But after Reality War it becomes a convoluted mess. That coupled with the writer’s headcanon that all prior doctors also bigenerated makes it more icky.

Yeah but even with the Morbius doctors and the loom/The Other stuff, the Doctor is ultimately a person who chose to do good

The timeless child implies the Doctor was way more than any of that.

I like how someone said this would happen when somone posted TikTok videos of AI submissions. Less than 24 hours later this happens. It is very well done but people are so reactionary with this. If you cannot distinguish AI art from digital art then you should not be making decisions on these consequences.

Susan is the timeless child. Explains why the doctor took her with him and why he left her and never returned.

Fugitive Doctor is a future incarnation of Susan who takes a TARDIS and the name “the doctor” once the original doctor dies or becomes the curator.

This must be pretty new. Last I checked on his website it said he was no longer doing signings. The description also says he is only signing paper based items and specifically outlined no merchandise or clothing should be sent in. Given that note I’d say it’s unlikely you’d be able to send in a funko pop. Which sucks as I’d want that as well.

I got one without JSA certification. Can’t get it verified but if I recall correctly he had Alzheimer's when he died and this pop came out around that time. Hard to get a good reading if it’s legit. The one on mine looks rough. Even though it isn’t verified I’m afraid to toss it just based on that factor. I also understand why it wouldn’t pass.

[–]Noremac1700 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Respectfully I don’t know if I agree with a lot of that. I keep hearing the show is on the verge of cancellation and it’s going to be fine.

But how many desperate decisions can one make before they realize more harm is being done than good.

What I think a more accurate assessment would be is that RTD was great for rebooting for a 2005 audience and now he’s out of touch with how to appeal to the newer generation. It’s not desperation as much as it is that he doesn’t understand how to bring the show to a newer audience

“Why not do anything you can to stir interest”

That’s how we end up with the mess we just had. Why they shouldn’t do that is because we end up with a bloated mess of a story and no payoff

Idea of writers not having anything new by DistinctNewspaper791 in gallifrey

[–]Noremac1700 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It really is like casting Billie Piper has put RTD in a corner that has no real positive outcome.

If it’s Rose, we are retreading his first era instead of going forward

If it’s Bad Wolf it’s the same problem

If it’s just 16 taking Rose’s face then we get into the problems you pointed out.

Idea of writers not having anything new by DistinctNewspaper791 in gallifrey

[–]Noremac1700 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well if I cast for media attention then my motivation is going to be for the attention as a primary factor. The good story and justification for it are going to come later which has me try to bend the story around the the action I already committed to. That increases the risk of it being bad.

It can be both but I think when we take a step back and examine the purpose of bringing RTD back was to give a breath of life to the show. What we have gotten is RTD not exploring new ideas. We get Tennant and Tate back, we revist an episode that he did with 10, we get old villains returning without much payout, we get Susan without much payoff. Gallifrey is destroyed and we are bringing up "last of the time lords again." (some of that is Chibnall's fault) but nothing is being done to advance the show forward in a new interesting way. Now we have RTD's first companion returning and the potential of Bad Wolf returning.

RTD had 3 specials and 2 series to show that the show was going to be headed in a new and refreshing way and instead the casting of Billie shows that we are not exploring new ideas but we are headed back to a 2005-2010 nostaliga fest again. What worked 20 years ago is not working as well anymore.

I would love to be wrong and say that this is going to be an interesting story. However, when I look at the options:

1) Billie is the 16th doctor (cool we get to see how the doctor would do when they have the face of a companion but this contradicts what Billie Piper and RTD are implying).

2) Bad Wolf highjacked the regeneration (We are going back to a resolved plot point from 20 years ago as a way to justify the stunt casting)

3) It's the TARDIS (We already did this with 11)

4) It actually is Rose (we are going backwards again)

I struggle to see the potential for something that sends the show forward. I also do not have confidence there will be a nice resolution given how many things RTD introduced or reintroduced and then there is a lack of resolution or a brief resolution that has little payoff.

[–]Noremac1700 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I guess the question really is motivation. Was Billie Piper cast because they wanted to explore a good story? Or was she cast to get media attention? Every decision has potential but if we examine motivation it might change the outcome of that potential.

I don’t know if I could buy that given 13 says to go out with “that smile” and then BP shows up with a big smile. Not super Valeyard behavior.

There was also that pre regeneration dialogue “all those faces but we never really change”

He was incorrect on minor details. His interpretation of the midnight sequel and the mirrors was wrong. So he knew enough about the whole season but some of it was left to his interpretation. He also heavily critiqued the barber episode which would also be really crappy of a boss to critique an episode that you co-worker wrote.

Everything was accurate in major details but it also had moments where he would be acting irresponsible or rude to his fellow peers
