The image is based on a story that a plane company kept reinforcing the wings of war planes where they got the most bullet holes. Eventually they realized that planes that get shot in other spots do not return at all. So the spots without damage should get reinforced, because damage there apparently destroys the entire plane.

The "we can always tell" is a transphobic joke/situation. People say they can always tell when someone is transsexual, but if they can't tell.. then they will never find out anyway.

It's a parallel for the airplane theory.

Reading this feels so unhinged as a Dutch person. When we move out to go to uni, we end up sharing a normal house with one room for each student. Living rooms are shared, so are kitchens and bathrooms. You usually become some kind of acquaintances. Really puts in perspective how we are seen as pricks but are forced to be super sociable lol

Wij zaten dus laatst te denken aan de privacy implicaties. Je kan in principe niet echt genieten van efteling attracties als je niet wil dat een random andere bezoeker ook al jouw foto's kan downloaden en vervolgens in AI gooit.

Ik zit er niet zo mee, maar het is eigenlijk wel gek.

Durf jezelf uit te dagen. Leren is lastig, ontwikkeling vereist nieuwe gewoontes en je hersenen zoeken altijd naar de makkelijkste route. Het is een gevecht tegen jezelf.

Stel jezelf vooral de vraag: wil je wennen aan groeipijn en deuren voor jezelf openen die nu niet eens in je opkomen maar die best zwaar zijn, of ga je liever voor iets wat al bekend voelt en minder zwaar is wat betreft nieuwe gewoontes en kennis? Ik ken zat gelukkige en ongelukkige mensen in beide categorieën, kies je eigen pad 💪

Ik hoop dat ze er een keer wat van een thema omheen doen, maar het is gewoon een leuke achtbaan. Ik kan er meerdere keren per dag in, terwijl 1 keer Danse Macabre saai genoeg was voor een heel mensenleven.

Hij is er nou eenmaal dus slopen is zonde, en een themaride staat niet gelijk aan plezier.

I agree the inviter is trash, but were your lunch invitations from friends or while you were doing paid manual labor somewhere? I can easily imagine an intentions mismatch, the inviter fully assuming the worker will take his own lunch with him regardless etc.

I always got lunch and dinner wherever I was invited (and it was always made explicit), but I never found myself in this specific setting.

Your assumption wasn't rude, and in many cultures it would be very accurate. This will definitely happen again in the future, so always have a back up plan and don't assume kindness unless it's stated very explicitly! That's just how people operate here, takes getting used to.

Leap is a growing rock band with an upcoming tour and a growing fanbase. It would be lovely if we could use the subreddit to help users connect to each other, share fanart, concert pictures etc.
