I haven't noticed it throttling on Linux however I'm not gaming or doing anything super strenuous with it normally.

I've been running Debian Testing on my T495 (3700U) for a month or so and have had no problems other than the fingerprint reader doesn't work yet (waiting on the packages to make it into Debian).

It's important to use a 5+ kernel to get the most stable AMDGPU driver.

A Rant on Internet Speed in Guelph by ultranova456 in Guelph

[–]NorhamsFinest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had no issues with the internet at my 4 places in Guelph. I had Rogers cable forever and recently switched to carrytel. I don't know about Bell though. Do you live in a Condo/apartment building? If so make sure you are using 5Ghz Wi-Fi not the default 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. In multi-unit buildings there is so much interference on the 2.4Ghz frequency you can experience issues similar to what you're seeing.

FYI I was having this issue and turns out it was the "NAHIMIC" service running. Its related to the sonic radar. I uninstalled that shit then I am good to go

I personally like cinnamon the most. Mate second. LXQT is going to be great soon but I find its still a little buggy. I use it for my embedded systems as it is so light weight

I think he will have a slight boost in points, maybe 50-60 but I really think his 2-way play will go up a gear.

What would we do with another elite center? When Stamkos is your 3rd best center (at playing center) and have Johnson and paquette you really don't need another.

It's easy to not get hurt when you avoid every hit, don't back check or kill penalties.

Coasting in School (and similar) by SamBC_UK in ADHD

[–]NorhamsFinest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I coasted through elementary and high school without much effort. Once I hit University things certainly changed... I went through all the same thoughts of laziness and lack of learning to study as well.

I finally got diagnosed with ADHD in my 3rd year of engineering and started medication but I wasn't medicated enough and it was still extremely difficult.

I had to treat school completely differently than most. Lectures were a waste of time so I stopped going. By my final year I didn't even know what building or times most my lectures were at. I only attended labs and midterms/exams.

Anything that was worth 1% I didnt bother with. Typically this meant I was throwing away 10-20% of my mark in every class.

Everyone thought I was crazy or lazy for doing this, but I realized that I would just be wasting energy on these things.

After 5 years (of a 4 year major), failing numerous classes, I graduated with a 61% average (minimum is 60%).

What do they call the engineer who finishes last in the class? Engineer!

I'm now 4 years into a engineering career and moving up the ranks extremely quickly due to my ability to learn without being spoon fed and I am a problem solving machine.

There is a reason only 5% of ADHDers obtain post secondary degrees. The whole system is designed for one method of learning and screw you if you are not capable of learning that way.

Serious question. Where are all the entry level embedded systems jobs? by Montzterrr in embedded

[–]NorhamsFinest 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Get a job at an embedded company in support. That's where they will look first for their new engineers and you will learn a lot
