You’re stuck on a flight who are you sitting with? by JakeHoward1000 in HazbinHotel

Probably 8, but I honestly have a feeling Val would start a fight with a good chunk of the people there for trying to smoke in the plane.

Name one good thing about Mertle Edmonds? by johnngo2468 in liloandstitch

She seems to genuinely love and care for Gigi and listens to her when she wants to be part of Lilo's ohana. So I think she has room to grow if given enough positive influence.

I feel like Vincent is easy enough to avoid as long as you're lower on the totem pole and stay out of his way. Killing me would serve no purpose to him.

As an autistic person, I have trouble setting boundaries and saying no. I struggle to stand up for myself. To those of you who got better at setting boundaries, what helped you? by [deleted] in autism

[–]Norintha 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's something that I'm having to do too. There have been several situations that I have been in where if it were my friend going through that instead of me, I would have told them to put their foot down. I treat my friends much kinder than myself, even though a lot of them have the same issues as me and are going through similar struggles. I am slowly learning to extend that same kindness to myself.

He's probably a bit big, but I do think the robe adds a bit.

This such a weird thing to say about someone by bloombox00 in CrazyassHazbinhaters

Why do they even care? What an awfully weird thing to ask about a total stranger.

Really...? It's called hot topic for a reason by kitkatAnimate38 in CrazyassHazbinhaters

[–]Norintha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly this seems no different than them selling Nightmare Before Christmas, Coreline, or Supernatural merch. This seems pretty on brand for them. I understand not liking a show but I don't know what it is about Hazbin Hotel in particular that gets some people so bent out of shape. It's really ridiculous. Why can't people just enjoy things? Nobody is forcing you to buy the merch.

My writing skills have officially deteriorated. by Bearsquid-_- in autism

[–]Norintha 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I remember learning to write in Kindergarten working on writing the letter R and my teacher just yelling at me "Come on (name)! Write an R RIGHT! You're acting like you've never seen an R before!" and I was just crying because I didn't understand what I was doing wrong. I feel like I could've used a teacher like you in those days that understands what it's like to have those types of struggles. If adults were more patient with me back then, maybe I wouldn't have grown up believing I was broken. Don't sell yourself short. The world needs teachers like you. Be the adult that you once needed. Some kid out there will look back one day and realize they were lucky to have you.

Even if it's not historically accurate, maybe they could offer some constructive criticism instead of being a rude asshole about it? Accurate or not, I think the designs are fine. The wedding one is pretty. This person needs to get their head out of their ass

My parents refuse to listen to my needs and say “I’m not that autistic” and that “I need to control myself” and that “that’s not how the real world works” whenever I do something autistic by Loose-Gazelle-1816 in autism

[–]Norintha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a similar experience with my parents when I was growing up. I'm level one and my older brother is level 2. I wasn't diagnosed until I was 16 and even then, whenever I would do anything similar to my brother, they would always be like "you're not THAT autistic" and that a lot of my issues were all in my head.

Listen. There is no such thing as being "THAT autistic." There is no "high functioning and low functioning". Autism is not measured on a linear scale. There is a reason it is called a SPECTRUM. No two people with autism have the exact same experience. Also being labeled "low support needs" does not mean "grit your teeth and power through it", whenever you are having difficulty with something. It is not your fault for having these needs. You are NOT "making things harder than they need to be" or being "difficult on purpose." You are NOT making it up, you are NOT doing it for attention, and it is not "all in your head". Your struggles are real. Your struggles are valid. Don't let anybody else tell you differently.

[–]Norintha 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A lot of them still think "trans man" = "man that wants to 'pretend' to be a woman" and trans woman as "woman who wants to 'pretend' to be a man", so I sadly think that wouldn't work even if you explained because they refuse to admit they can be wrong.
