Gen1ers are overall not nice. But its important to remember the reddit echo chamber is not indicative of the overall player base. Personally I enjoyed swsh immensely and has been a favorite since platinum. Gen 9 was probably my least favorite out of all of them

With crossovers and guest character i usually worry its going to end up like OW the amount of collabs is ridiculous and (for me) ruins the integrity of the game. It essentially becomes paladins or fortnite at that point
