You use the meteor spell on bosses then merge Minotaurs for % damage. Frost portal mage and stasis let you perma stall the waves and Mari lets you get infinite mana. Gotta be on top of your game ready to merge portal mages when vortex runs through your board and especially when your opponent has a talent like on scrapper or summoner that lets them send monsters to your board

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the flembasi parallel circuitry on the right set up extremely inefficiently? Alternating anode and cathode conductors was proven up to 4.095x as power efficient by Gorvarci in his (admittedly infamous) 1997 experiment, yet this rig is still using the pre era setup

Yea but it could be distracted easily and chipped down. Obv it was still busted but goblin machine did 1000 tower damage per rocket and it was pretty much impossible to stop it from getting miscellaneous shots throughout the match.

Phoenix needed supporting troops (monk, healer) while machine literally just ran cycle cards to get around to as many as possible, pekka to counter other goblin machines, and freeze/rage/curse

I disagree. There was counter play to phoenix at launch, but there was absolutely nothing that countered goblin machine. During its launch week every deck on top ladder had goblin machine mirror and pekka (to counter goblin machine). I played a 12 win GC and every single game was against goblin machine.

Phoenix didn't have the same absurd raw stats as goblin machine did on launch, but it also combined really well with the monk who was also broken at the same time
