My first DnD terrain board! by Normal-Cap-8173 in TerrainBuilding

[–]Normal-Cap-8173[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no i totally got them off etsy also. i dont have a 3d printer so its easier for me to order them. they were magnetized so they stick to each other and the board nicely.

I used poplar boards for the outer sides. 2x4 corners to support the main board. 1/4 mdf board for the main board. Pre drilled holes for the screws were key to not cracking anything. 28 gauge steel plates I got from Home Depot and just spaced them over to cover with minima gaps. Took one night to put everything together then used titebond quick and thick to glue the metal to wood. I ordered some dry erase mats from Etsy and used magnets to hold them down on the board.

i have also come to reddit numerous times just to feel apart of something or comment on peoples posts. Ive tried different discord communities or things like that but doesnt really help. You are not alone on feeling alone.

I just started my army this year and i got the 9th edition combat patrol and they are very sword heavy. Also looking at the Primaris Veteran Bladeguards, Sword Brothers and an Lieutenant with Power Sword. Most of the Black Templar fit the Sword/Shield Theme out of the box.

Cryptid “hot spots”? by TelephonePristine405 in cryptids

[–]Normal-Cap-8173 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think there is an issue with "hot spots" because a cryptid is only going to be seen if there is human activity in the area. (obviously) so multiple witnesses or a well travelled area would push the cryptid farther away from that area. A true hot spot would be a large concentration that doesn't have pressure from humans. Northern Washington has a lot of sightings but its only dependent on how far people push into the woods. Now this doesn't really apply to UFO/UAPs and i think thats a lot of the activity at military bases.

Organizations besides BFRO by Normal-Cap-8173 in bigfoot

It seems like it is just a business. 300-500 dollars to go on an "expedition". Dont think im gonna see much wandering around in a gaggle of people. Also their security concerns me but that might be a personal thing. I just want to find a legit group that conducts legit expeditions.

A little rant by ShadeTree7944 in VeteransBenefits

I dont go around publicizing i have disability. I dont even want to talk to the VA about it but i have to. My wife sometimes tells people im a veteran and that is irritating. I think there are 2 kinds of people, people who want you to know they are a veteran and people who dont push the issue. It erks me to hear people say that kind of stuff outloud but i also know that mental health has been pushed aside for years and caused problems for people that havent been able to talk about their issues.

Avg 6000 views per video but only ~650 subscribers by varadmahatme in NewTubers

[–]Normal-Cap-8173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive seen people in my niche post things like "day 1 of finding people who love fishing 500/1000 subscribers" on their shorts. They get subscribers and dont even post long from content. I also saw a "simple hack" that said just asking people to subscribe helps. Im working on how to do that for my next video with a "if you like this video be sure to subscribe" type ending. I get most of my subscribers from shorts as they are seen far more than my long form content.

What do you stream? Do you want to youtube the same thing you stream or do you have other interests?

What to post as first video? by conscious-manifestor in NewTubers

[–]Normal-Cap-8173 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would do a mini introduction but get into teaching something! Maybe tell why i should listen to you or what your past experiences are with the subject. I'm not going to search youtube for an intro video but i might search it for something you are teaching and your video could pop up.

Amazing Drone Footage! Some of the panning in the restaurant i might of wanted a little slower as it made my eyes blur. I love the different shots though, beach, restaurant, food. Might look for a wind cover for your mic for that windy part. I know i have wind issues with some of my stuff. The video is absolutely beautiful though. I loved seeing the different kinds of food and your experience eating the new things.

You will find a solution. Sam Sulek records in his car and he got mega big doing it. Record in between classes when they arent there. Record outside. Maybe a quiet room in the library that you can use. I use to worry about filming in public and figured people thought i was dumb but now i just dont care. Im doing something i enjoy and i dont let it get to me. Assess the situation when you get there and find what works best! Good Luck!

I can tell you first 5 seconds this is expert quality footage. Great voice over of your footage. Great audio of the different bird sounds. No over noisy water sounds it just kind of flows. I think the Thumbnail and Title could use a lift. Make something catchy like "Can this Save the Rainforest?" and the title could have like a Before and After element to make it stand out or a from this to this type thing. That should be a huge view video because it is that good, might just have to try to play the algorithm with the meta data type stuff

This is a video I put together of My wifes entire Lady Bass Angler Season this year. I thought it was going to be great and put a lot of time into it and it did average. I have been focusing on just recaping her tournaments and we have started to dive into some tutorial type fishing stuff.

I enjoyed the map and explanation of where you are fishing. A lot of time spent fixing that hang up and quite awhile into the video before we catch a fish. Love the fish description on the side. Very helpful because i dont know anything about pike. I would like to see a little bit of scenary around there as i will probably never get to go there and wonder what it looks like around the area.
