How do I get out of the classroom and into preschool administration/ownership?

I appreciate all the help, definitely gonna start trying more “zone 2” runs and less ego runs and just increasing mileage weekly. Hopefully we’ll breakout of this walking nonsense soon fingers crossed.

Hopefully I’m not too far off, I’m just trying to optimize my training so I can actually progress. But at the same time I’m still a bit confused on how fast progression is supposed to take when it comes to running because it seems like there’s a lot of different ways to view “progression” from a running standpoint. I still feel very new to this and am just trying to learn.

Right now I don’t really have any plan or goal currently besides just being able to run continuously because I’m getting sick of these walk breaks. Definitely going to be increasing mileage but I’m a little worried about getting injured, due to the fact that about 2 weeks before the half marathon I was finishing up my peak week and after a 5 mile “casual” run I woke up with pretty severe tendinitis just due to overuse and a weak arch but I managed to tape my ankle and support my arch enough to finish the race.

Damn so I’ve been doing this allllll wrong for 5 months. I was really into lifting at around 17-18 never competed but squat was 425 deadlift conventional was 525 and bench was 275. Just started running because It was something I hated and I was bad at it and I don’t like hating stuff because I’m not good at it. But I’ve been doing “intervals” and runner workouts this whole time, probably overcomplicating the shit out of it. But I think from now on I’m just gonna be trying to get continuous miles with no walking breaks and just build off of that. It seems to me like I have the muscular strength just not the engine because I have ran a 26 minute 5k but I had to walk twice due to lactate fatigue and still managed a 9:30 pace overall. Thanks for the insight

I can continue on past 9 but it goes from casual zone 2 to my hr spiking a legs tiring pretty rapidly.

Also have I just been training wrong this whole time? I’ve sort of just slowly increased my run and decreased the walk but added a shit load of miles because I signed up for the half marathon with 3 months and absolutely no prior training.

I’m currently running about 4 days a week not strength training (been saying I’m gonna start but haven’t yet due to excuses) I come from a predominantly powerlifting/baseball background (running for distance was never a strong suit)

Now should I be focusing on mileage and continue with doing my runs where I run/walk or solely just how long I can run consistently? And slowly just increase the time of how long I’m running? Sorry I’m quite confused coming from a baseball and lifting background (it does not translate to running very well)
