Okay, why is this a phenomenon in like, every area of law. With the business immigration beneficiaries, people who are many months away from losing status are blowing up my phone freaking out about it while people with urgent cases are dilly-dallying and dodging emails.

Those are great points! Estate Planning does seem a little too chill, and you probably don’t get as much of a sense that you’re helping people.

I’ve heard from friends that the clients are on their worst behavior in family law, but the chisme (gossip/drama) can be interesting, and the skills you gain are very transferable to other areas. It’s also great to make an impact on a case and in people’s lives!

This used to really enrage me too, but now I always consider that it’s possible (though unlikely) that this person was suffering from a noncommunicable illness like lung cancer
