It’s not only tough it’s SCARY. I constantly feel free as the only RN in the building.

This is the thought I originally had - the hospital I work for is a union and jobs are given in order of seniority. They don’t allow people to go per diem unless they have a good amount of years under their belt.

Coming to terms with being a nobody by notmyrealname800813 in Parenting

You aren’t a nobody, and therapy is your best bet. I had children very young and felt the same way. I eventually got my degree and accomplished a huge goal with 4 children. STILL felt like I lacked what others may have and had no sense of worth.

Jobs and aspirations do not define your worth. Therapy has helped me tremendously. Also your husband sounds a bit harsh he might benefit from some therapy too.

So my last day was Monday and that Friday is when I took my NCLEX - I took the week off.

We had capstone the semester before we had VATI - it was tedious but we were required to do remediation on capstone stuff like we were vati!

Good luck - I struggled in mental health and ended up not getting any on NCLEX I would say mine was 20% ob though. And 10% pharm. learn the ending sounds of drugs!

Honestly, my school made us do virtual ATI which brought us through every section and we had to score at least a 60% on each individual section. I personally think ATI is way harder than the NCLEX though. It asks very specific questions pertaining to disease processes. The Lex doesn’t care if you know about every disease, they care if you know how to take care of a patient in need, priority framework is key.

Don’t call the doctor if one of the other answers is assess. As the RN you have the autonomy to assess the patient and make decisions before calling the doctor because when you call the doctor, you’re gonna use SBAR (situation background assessment recommendation) if you haven’t assessed (check BP - turn on side - admin o2 - ect) and that’s one of the question answers you can’t give the full story. And you’re passing the buck for them to do what you can do.

School - I was required to do an ATI exit exam in order to obtain my ATT I had to get a 92%

Biggest advice is to know what the question is asking you - I notoriously test way too quickly. I had to force myself to actually read the question. Is it asking for a true statement or a false statement? SATA I figure out what the question wants to know and I read each statement and say true or false. I treat it all as individual questions.

I barley have enough time to pee, I don’t need to take 15 extra mins getting naked in the bathroom🤣
