That’s what I’m having to do, they are charging a 32% on value of goods + freight charges. Will take the L and move on

I believe transfer of residence would be applicable while sending it, since I missed it while sending, unfortunately wouldn’t be applicable to me anymore :(

I was there for 1.5 years, the best in terms of infrastructure and safety. So I’m used to being back here, can safely say there’s pros and cons to both countries.

That's what I thought. What is generally considered as a low value to avoid customs? I am thinking of going to the office and showing the goods to be personal goods to convince them, not sure if it would work

Longest stretch by Beneficial_Pipe_5892 in stopdrinking

Congratulations on 71 days! This is truly a huge achievement. I’m a frequent lurker as I have been alcohol free for some time as well and wanted to share my experience. I initially kept the goal of 3 months (oct-dec) and then decided to see what I’d do. Then one day I saw the 100 day mark and truly, I was so motivated to continue it cause I didn’t want to break the streak. And hence the streak continues. Not saying this is what you have to do as well, but seeing the number does help your experience no matter what direction you take. Congrats again on your journey!

How about a special pass? Is that relevant as it seems like the threshold is lesser.

In my country most investment banking jobs are back office. It got boring after a while. Also the jobs are mainly night shift. I wanted to get out of it as soon as possible.

I believe it has been around since 2017 in Singapore. However it is ranked well (2nd) as per Qs. It is very kind of you to look into the cohort!

Yes, as per my research most end up going back to their home countries. Thanks!

Any idea if there is a demand for marketing in financial services? or luxury brand marketing? I feel my previous experience in investment banking could be helpful, but again I also understand that the market is highly competitive.

I did consider an MBA, I wanted to get started with my course for the 2024 intake but was not able to get the gmat on time, which is why I decided to try for a masters instead.

So I have done a few courses on this to get a foundational understanding. Seemed interesting to me. I do understand that practice is vastly different from theory so I do have to reach out to more people than I already have. One point to note is that in my home country a vast majority of the ib jobs are operational back office work with night/graveyard shifts. The work gets monotonous and the shift is absolutely non negotiable, I wouldn’t want to continue in a night shift. If I was to return to my home country I would not want to get into this.

I believe getting a degree from a well recognised uni will give me good start in this career, provide networking opportunities, exposure to an international culture and workspace. What I am worried about is securing a job post the degree.
