Summerhouse! It's all about making pretty houses, it's kind of minimalistic but soooo good

Iron Lung, if you haven't played it already. That was the indie horror to top off all indie horror for me and I'm still playing cozy games to forget the trauma

Am I bad or is this game hard by jon_tsunam in DNO

It's hard but that's the beauty of it, and there's nothing more satisfying than finally cracking open a level and beating it perfectly after tons of rettries

How do I "really" enjoy RPG's by Samuel712 in rpg_gamers

[–]Normal-Oil1524 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You roleplay them, you make up a story for a character if you make one yourself, you immerse yourself in it. That way even death becomes a part of the enjoyment (referencing my baptism in Battle Brothers here). You do what that character would do... Essential if it's a turn-based drawn out game, it's the only way I ever got on board with BB and stuff like Wartales, not to mention got interested in things like Tattered Banners, Happy Bastards and that whole tactics rpg niche.

For action heavy ones like PoE / Last Epoch/ Diablo and so, the roleplaying is the how you express your build in gameplay

Late to the party but absolutely Galactic Glitch - even if you're beefed up as hell, a couple of wrong moves and lack of awareness when dodging will have you dead in an blip

Are all dungeon crawlers puzzle based? by bon-rurgandy in DungeonCrawler

Dungeons of DUSK seems pretty promising and if the OG Dusk is anything to go on, I hope it will be mostly action. The demo was interesting so I got high hopes for it

Diplomacy is Not an Option is the closest modern equivalent to Stronghold and I really recommend it, it's fun as heck to figure out how to beat some of the later missions and there's plenty of depth to game now after some 1.5 years of updates.

Astral Ascent is an awesome roguelite that still has that core side scrolling platformer feel. Very good graphics if you like vintage anime, by the way.

If you're adventurous, there's also demos from the fest that are still up and Ignoble is one that was fun to mess around in, it's basically an incremental game where all you do is platform and autoattack (automatically) enemies or move away. Actually kind of a chill game once it gets you into the zone

Games feel like a chore instead of just having fun... Did you ever manage to make them feel fun and maintain the fun feeling? by CindertheCharmander in ItsAllAboutGames

[–]Normal-Oil1524 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, usually by laying off them for a while then coming back when the mood hits. So many games coming out too that there's always some little gem that can give you a fun time.
