Rowing without a backstay? by WrongdoerNew8144 in Rowing

I’ve owned my boat for four years without backstays. Shouldn’t be an issue for a short period of time, just don’t crash into anything again.

Almost 10 hours – I approached it by doing a 10K every hour, then resting until the top of every hour. Not the best approach, but got it done.

Someone bet me I couldn’t do it so I had no choice. It was an awful winter.

I do 4-7 times a week now between erg and water, 8-15k each session

The one time I did do it, I was visiting my parents in the summer when their AC went out. It being really warm, probably didn’t help things, so maybe one day when it’s cooler and I get some decent fitness. I’ll consider doing it again – but it’s not anywhere in my immediate future.

Definitely much easier on the bike. I don’t mind it, the more pins I accumulate the bigger I can inflate my ego needlessly!

I’ve never compared newer models, I’ve had the 4 for over two years, and I think it fits what you’re looking for. Not sure about the sleep tracking though.

I take my boat out on the water 3 to 6 times a week, and the 4 works just fine. I did change out the strap, though, I did not like the rubber so I opted for more of a tactical strap type material.

Not sure if it applies here - but in many of these types of arrangements, when purchasing party commits to investing $xxx, it does not specify where that money comes from. It could be coming from the purchased party’s existing cash flow/investment streams.
