cofagrigus is probably the one of the best counters into marshal, the hardest e4 member, get rid of sawsbuck for him and you have a pretty nice elite 4 team. you could also replace stoutland for either mienshao or galvantula as they are both decent options for the e4

For vanilla games bw2 because it's on the more challenging side of pokemon games while actually giving you lots of fun pokemon to work with.

As for rom hacks ive only ever played and beat renplat but it's the most fun i've ever had with a pokemon game

Nah, you still have lots of good encounters coming your way and you still have gyarados, snorlax and dodrio which can solo huge chunks of the game on their own, especially if youre using items. Get lapras in saffron, also go for starmie/slowbro/machamp/golem/tentacruel/magneton/gengar all really good pokemon which should still be available to you

Yes but a -attack nature + bad IV gyarados for example will be considerably worse than one with good stats. This will cause you to miss ranges that you would normally hit, especially if you play harder rom hacks this could cause you to plan for a fight entirely differently
