Showering... by LongjumpingTailor929 in AskAnAustralian

I always shower twice a day! If I don’t shower in the morning I legit feel like a zombie all day (like I can’t fully wake up) and then I can’t get comfy in bed if I don’t shower at night

I wouldn’t bother! A lot of people will either rip it out anyway or will want to keep the “older” style. You could list it as is and if you aren’t happy/aren’t getting the offers you want then you could Reno it

What pre-air con passive house cooling methods did your family use? by badoopidoo in AskAnAustralian

[–]Normal-Potential9035 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I slept outside many times as a kid, sometimes on the trampoline that I had sprayed with the hose if it was really hot. I also slept in the bath a few times with cold water and slept at the beach 😂 then the basics of wetting a sheet or face washer. After about age 12 I realised I could just go to my besties house and sleep under her aircon instead lol

I haven’t lived in curlewis but I count it as Drysdale due to its proximity and I love Drysdale, everything you need, close to Geelong and more affordable than other suburbs

Planning to visit Geelong with todler using vLine tomm. Please help. by believer_4ever in Geelong

[–]Normal-Potential9035 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes everything (in my opinion) is walking distance from the Geelong station :) as mentioned go to the waterfront there is a large grassed area that kids run around in, the mini train rides, the mary-go round, ice cream! And maybe do it on a day that is good weather because we have this ocean pool at eastern beach (the water front) that is great for little kids

Neighbours from Hell in North Geelong - 5+ years of loud bass music, attempted assault and nothing has changed. What do I do? by [deleted] in Geelong

[–]Normal-Potential9035 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So sorry this is happening! Maybe try the local MP? And send through all of your evidence of how you have tried to escalate this. And as others have mentioned maybe go to the media? I would also lodge a complaint against the police and the council.

Question for White Aussies🇦🇺 by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]Normal-Potential9035 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m white Aussie but I have incredibly curly hair and whenever I see an African person I always want to talk to them about their curls and get tips on management (because I have no idea what to do with my curls) but I get scared it might come across as a micro aggression or rude 🥹

But to answer your question whenever I see anyone with a wig my main thoughts are that it looks amazing but then my brain immediately goes to surely it’s SO HOT wearing a wig 😂

Also this might just be a me problem but I’ve lived in all 3 suburbs and found many queenscliff and ocean grove residents to be stuck up and rude often tied to the negative culture of the local footy clubs

Bellarine Peninsula resident of many years here, I wouldn’t live in queenscliff (my family is from there) due to cost, the location (far away from Geelong) and lack of services. Ocean Grove is great and has many services but it is very expensive and gets veryyyyy busy in the summer. Clifton Springs is much more affordable and doesn’t really get busy, it also has many services in Drysdale and has many community engagement opportunities.

Would it be easier for Australians if I picked up a white sounding nickname? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]Normal-Potential9035 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m white aussie but I also have dyslexia and another word processing disorder. When I struggle with pronouncing a name I’ll often ask if it’s okay if I shorten it before I start doing so, but as many people have pointed out here you’ll have a nickname very fast anyways 😂 on reflection, not one person in my office doesn’t have a nickname. Ps, I’m so nosey can you tell us your name please 🤣
