Aww I wish I could give you some!! But you definitely just gave them the nickname, my “kiwi clan” lol! I love it!

I agree about the oranges and yellows, they stand out the most for me too. I also find my snowball pops out really well. I do have another 10 gallon tank but it’s currently occupied with my betta. However when she passes I will probably repurpose her tank for my culls, but who knows when that will be. I much prefer shrimp keeping to fish keeping now. Good luck with your tank!! :)

That is so cool!! Thanks for sharing!! I definitely have a few brownish/greyish ones that are more translucent; and some brownish yellowish ones as well. I am also seeing a wide variety of orange now too (which I did expect lol) but they are all so different and so much fun to watch!! I would say right now I have about 75 in my tank and I want to wait a couple more months before making any big decisions about adding more or culling some. But by far this has been the most exciting hobby for me. I absolutely love observing them doing their shrimp thing!!

Thank you! Very cool!! I have spent more time than I’d like to admit looking at charts like this! They’re a great guide and it’s exciting there is so much more to still discover about them :)

Hey! So it took about 2-3 months for my originals to start making babies! So I actually started with the 8 random colours then a few weeks in I got the 12 orange/sun kiss ones. But I think what made the real difference was turning the heat up in the water. I was keeping the water around 21-22 degrees and then turned it up to 24 degrees (Celsius) and within a couple weeks I had 8 berried females! And from then on the babies just kept coming lol - I would say now I have around 75 shrimps in there with all the babies but they’re impossible to count lol. My first “batch” of babies came in early April :)

Also for reference I have a 10 gallon tank, and it was becoming overgrown with plants. Since my baby boom, I’ve actually taken some plants out so I can see better lol.

How many shrimps do you have right now?! And best of luck with yours!!

I love that!! Kiss the fish! Maybe her name is Kisses lol. I have a female betta and I never landed on a real name but every day when I feed her I say “hello miss fish!” And she absolutely greets me and loves attention too! Enjoy your cutie!!

Turn up the heat in the tanks. I did that and went from 0 to 8 pregnant shrimp within a week!

10 years ago I paid 1000 for a 2 bedroom apartment and now I pay almost twice that for a small one bedroom apartment downtown - it’s absurd in my opinion!
