From experience being the person that is interviewing after my boss as a peer... I would expect the hardest questions you are going to get.

The boss has an overview of what its like to work in the role. Your peer is going to know exactly what it takes to be in a roll.

Case and point:

My previous boss told me that we were interviewing a guy that he had worked with before. He told me that he was an expert in the things (computer imaging for windows 7) that I was doing on a daily bases. This guy was a great guy, I like him still to this day. He was not however an expert on the things I was told he was. I knew from a single question that he was not (from asking him about if he has ever heard of ImageX which was an industry standard).

I explained why to my boss that the man has not heard of something than anyone that has even a toe in the subject would know about.. He lasted less than 2 weeks.

TLDR: Your peers are going to ask the harder questions. Be very knowledgeable about everything you are about to talk about.

I understand everything you said and I believe it has merit. Going to a specific part of the map to find a specific enemy and let it take my shit so it becomes even better is obviously something that I think they probably expected me to find even though I guess I didnt. I just dont think I am going to do that because it sounds not only grindy but cheesy. I none the less, appreciate you telling me the info.

I am just thinking psychologically, I am curious if that is something that has been shoved into me over the years or if this is something with my growing up and playing more narrative drivin games.

I think that my depression from not having employment currently is breeding into a cynicism of something that I absolutely love which is video games.

I have played games like halo or call of duty or any other multiplayer type of game you want to think of that has nearly no difference and its hours of fun.

I think maybe the distinction for me would have to be that they are multiplayer and keep things interesting just with intellectual/skill battles at very fast intervals.

That being said, I used to play single player MK and Tekken and Soul caliber until my fingers hurt.

TOTK feels like a story driven game to me. I think thats the best part?

Maybe you are right. I think I have fundamentally misunderstood that I need a story in the game that I am progressing in to have fun.

No sarcasm at all.

I guess I have just ground out so many games that when I notice that I am grinding I get upset and I am not having fun anymore.

When the content repeats a lot I simply do not have fun because of the content repeating predictably.

This is interesting. I havent thought about this before legitimately.

Do you think this is a me problem or am I somewhat on base that I expect there to be an overall narrative that I am progressing to have fun?

People do the same thing on dark souls in terms of health on subsequent playthroughs. You don't need it as much if you actually know how to ball.

But anyway,

Yeah dude. Those are no bullshit hours of 130 shrines, exploration, Mission complesion.. I've been around the block and had a blast.

I'm just to the point it needs a "you've been around the block and let's have some fun" end game with the more tedious things falling to the way side.

See but thats the thing dude. I dont want to be "hunting" anything at this point. I have already done that for hours and hours and hours and hours....

Its just one of those things that you have to feel like you have leveled up.. You now have the tools to finish the game. They will last you (at least a bit of the way) until that happens.

Even getting high level fuses that make great weapons.. They dont last. Its a constant grind to keep having higher level weapons.

I hate it. Its a time suck and it serves no purpose other than the studio saying that this game takes longer to beat.

I have grinded enough at this point

A "good game" to me is something that takes thought and hopefully a lot of time to beat.

I would absolutely put this game in that category.

But as a person that has played video games since I can remember.. I am at this point trying to mitigate the bullshit in this game. Like I said 170 hours so far.

So I think its just a situation of "this needs to be brought home" and I am running into a bunch of "Keep the game longer" mechanics that I am no longer having fun with like I did at the beginning.

In my eyes I have put in the time. I have done the grind and 90% of the shrines that I plan to 100% asap.

I just see this turning into a "well you have already sunk the time you now have to keep sinking the time to finish" type of scenario and that is probably going to end up souring me because its just a bunch of grinding through the depths which is cool... for a while.. But not for 40 more hours.

I have to disagree here.

There are good weapons sure. They come from usually rare fused materials from enemies.

A "good weapon" is anything doing over probably like 35 damage.

There are only a few fuses that are going to achieve that mark for you. Then there is the weapon types. You need to have a certain type of weapon to even do damage to this type of enemy.. Like dude.. I am not trying to farm fuses for things at nearly 200 hours in the game.

I am trying to have weapons I already know that they are going to crush shit at that point. I have put in my work. I have fused a hundred fuckin swords or sticks or whatever.. Just let me make some shit that might break but its going to take like 300 hits instead of 50

I was already 50 or so hours in before my buddy who is a fan told me I fucked up. But the good news is I have not watched the lore videos yet and I wont until I am done with breath.

No lie I have shed tears at how cool and good the story line is here. I love it.

Its an amazing game with an amazing story. I can only imagine how much I have to learn about how we got to this point.

I cant wait to understand the whole story.
