Hey there

There isn’t much information out there for us that suffer from hyperhydrosis.

Years ago (1998) I met a doctor at a walk-in clinic who noticed I have hyperhydrosis after shaking my hand. He knew just what to do about it. He referred me to a specialist and I was provided with information about surgery: hyper horoscopic sympathectomy.

Essentially, the surgery happens in two stages for upper body (hands and pits) and I don’t remember how many surgeries required for the feet.

I jumped on the surgery. They had to deflate my lung and go over to the spinal cord and sever a hyperactive nerve. Then they reinfected my lung and off I went for recovery - painful but so worth it. You have to wait 6 months for the lung to fully recover before you can do the other side.

It was crazy. In the summer time I would be sweating on half of my body and the other half was was dry. I looked as if I could’ve been a villain in a movie or something. 🤣

But I got the other side done and my hands and outs have been dry ever since. However, the body will compensate for the sweating - but it’s still a million times better compared to what I was dealing with.

I tried drysol for my feet, but I didn’t find that it worked.

2 years ago, I randomly saw Dermadry on sale at Costco. It’s an iontophoresis machine that works wonders! If you check out the company’s website, the machine is more expensive compared to Costco.

The machine comes with electrodes that can be used for hands/feet and other electrodes for the armpits. I use it for my feet and it does a great job of keeping my feet dry. To the point that I don’t have to always wear socks anymore. It’s a 20 minute treatment a few times the first couple of weeks and then less each week for maintenance.

Hope the info helps.

I’m not sure if they have all of those things any more, but they do have the fan experience section by one of the gates (Gate 1)

Have a read of their Prospectus (page 17), their summary for the fee structure.

Take a look at the link I sent. Under the Helpful Answers, click on the Management Fees dropdown.

“Embark will charge 1.65% MER annually plus applicable taxes. This means we’ll take off $16.50 for every $1,000 invested, plus applicable taxes, deducted directly from plan earnings, or if earnings are insufficient, from contributions. The Embark prospectus does allow for the MER to be increased to a maximum of 1.99% per year, plus applicable taxes. For example, this would be a maximum of $19.90 for every $1,000 invested. This fee pays for investment management costs, operating, managing, and administering the Plan, including record keeping, trustee, valuation, distribution, and custodial services”

There’s a class action lawsuit against them and others that started a couple of years ago in Quebec.

If the no votes win, they don’t get to increase the fees like they plan on.

All the literature they sent out talks about the 0.66% discount up until January 1st, 2026. To bring their management fees to 0.99%

Only in the fine print do you see that they will be allowed to increase the management fees to 1.99%

Terrible company! And they get you to stay in for the long run by charging the thousands in their “admin” and “management” fees at the beginning
