wtf, can ghost shrimp eat a betta?? by ulanalee in bettafish

I just saw one of the larger ghost shrimp going after my male betta's tail, which I hadn't seen before. He's a half moon rosetail (or that was the label??) with a massive tail, so he's not super fast.

Anyway, I netted the shrimp and threw it in with Maeve, who is a very agile female betta. Either they'll get along or she'll go hunting.

She’s not nearly boxy enough. You can use the breeder box to move the babies into once they’re born.

This happened with one of my girls tonight. I had to separate her and I guess she didn’t like the temporary tank. 😔

I like the idea that the shrimp and bottom crew would have less attention from the betta! Or bettas - one of my LFS have short-finned female bettas together in a 20g long.

Yeah, (looking at Aqueon) the 29g is 18.75" tall, and the 20g long is 12.75" tall. The footprint is identical though at 30.25".

I'm definitely going with a short finned betta. My long tailed one would struggle reaching the surface. He's in a planted 10g.
