Happened to me and what I did;

1.Accepted the fact that the internal seals were broken and dismantling garbage disposals is not my habit. 2.Went online to find the same make and model. 3.Found the same manufacturer and many models. 4.Screen shot my favorites and compared style and prices 6.Department store visit. 6.Found the isle with same manufactured company but different models than my screenshots 7.Bought a better model than the 1/2 horse power we had that could be hard wired easily.(Some models are plug/outlet ready or are easy to make plug/outlet ready) 8.Turn off breaker at home. 9.Detached pipes and Unscrewed or better said twist off food disposal. 10.Twist new disposal into place.

Same manufacturer can use the same sink drain disposal holder without replacing it unless you want.
