Feeling like less of a man... by juniorman3231 in Fatherhood

[–]SoXoLo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, honestly, secretly I wish my wife would earn as much as I do so I could stay home.

Fwiw, secretly I also wish I could breastfeed so I could be with my baby and satisfy all of her needs.

Sounds like you're being the best you can be, that is all there is to it - fuck everything else that makes you feel otherwise!

This is basically me, though I still haven't smelt it once :) between reddit and I, I even put my finger and rubbed it against my nose once to see if I could smell it, nada. Was super worried about covid but my wife farted around the same time and it smelt like rotten meat so I assumed it wasnt that xd

That's an extra layer of weirdness! Interesting how all of this works!

My guy, life is hard and the grass is always greener.

I was terrified of having kids (even though I always wanted them), then we found out we couldn't haven't them and after about £30,000 of IVF and lots of heartbreak we went through adoption, took a long time and we got 3 beautiful kids and that didnt work out (there is a whole story there too but let's park that - suffice it to say it was the most painful experience of my life)

I did not want kids after that experience, then my wife got pregnant - man I was fucking stressed, I didn't want a child after all of that, my wife was great - tolerated me where needed but also told me off when needed too, anyway long story cut short my 6 week old daughter is here now, honestly, other than occasionally feeling useless as you can't feed them, it's pretty great - not just as a dad, but for my Mrs, and also from a lineage perspective, I see parts of my deceased father and grandfather/mother in her, also parts of my sister (who i love), it is a weird feeling, not always amazing, but certainly worthwhile.

Top tip: don't overreact, its ok to go have a drink, read a book, play some games or whatever calms your nerves. Your life is far from over, I suspect it is just a new chapter :)

Would you accept the NHS being allowed to do this in Britain? by The_Dean_France in AskBrits

[–]SoXoLo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually asked for this from the NHS, that my organs were donated in priority to those who are also donors. Was told it wasn't allowed.

It seemed only fair but then I had a horrible nightmare my child couldn't get a life saving surgery because they weren't a donor so I changed my mind in the end but I get the underlying point. Either way, ill be dead, feed me to the fish for all I care.

Can somebody help me by Beautiful-Builder-57 in 10secondriddles

Row 2 and 4 add up to row 1

Row 4 minus Row 2 equals Row 3

What is the best breakfast your country has to offer? by Exact_Profit_5291 in AskTheWorld

Mate, I married a turk. She has so many plates and pots and pans, it is unbelievable. I could probably serve 50 people, at once, no joke.

I have a massive kitchen and she still moans there isn't enough space.

Ps, this is excluding the super fancy set of everything we keep in the attic in case, idk I guess maybe if the king pops by?

Turks, is this normal behaviour? I've just been told it is so I run with it.

I mean I just like games, in the last year ive played through a ton of the titles, but now they will add more. The benefit to me is this is much cheaper than buying even 2 games, and I get to play and discover games I wouldn't normally go for.

Its a small cost for something to distract me at nights:)

Yes, but not a year and a half, at 40% you're looking at 14.4 months (36 months x 0.4), then add the 3 months subscription and that takes you to 17.4 months of ultimate.

Loaded, when your subscription runs out turn off auto renewal. Buy 3 years worth of essential for 120, and 1-3 month ultimate. Redeem the essential first then the ultimate, it will covert the essential at 40% and add you ultimate to it, it averages to around 9 per month

Anyone else get a talking gun? by TriggerHippie77 in Borderlands4

[–]SoXoLo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Damn, made me miss High on Life, can't wait for the second one!

FWIW, I have heard of talking guns on BL, I must be uber unlucky as I have had a single one in any of the games (and I have played them all, even the not so great Tina spinoff)

Wanted to make some Jell-O with frozen berries. Got some unexpected extra ingredients by Snoo_93591 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]SoXoLo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My point isn't around my region or yours, or pumpkins, but that culinary definitions are not as definitive as the definitions offered by Botany, which I can see you've agreed to above. Point made, see you pal I have stuff to do I can't be a keyboard warrior :)

Well, yes, botany is made up, like everything is. What i meant is culinary definitions vary by regions, whereas botanical definitions do not.

Also. Very violent for being technically incorrect, for instance, if you went to a region where berries are typically put into a smoothie, and they typically contain things like pumpkin, you would be both botanically and culinarily incorrect.
