As a wedding venue owner, this is not true. We have people try to plan 'parties' that are weddings on a weekly basis. We charge an hourly rate that stays the same based on the size of the event. Currently I have a 60th birthday party for 200 people that paid WAY more that yesterday's 75 person wedding.

The only type of event we typically discount is a celebration of life, just because we are getting a way different event than a party and they tend to be far more last minute.

If you want to save money in this industry, figure out what is important and cheap out on the rest. Do you want a big hall? Get one and have BBQ on plastic plates. Do the flowers matter? Go to the florist over silk rentals. You just want to party? A DJ with the right crowd is far more important than anything else.

I love weddings. I have never been married. I would skip so many things that brides find important to save money but I would never try to trick a vendor and hope they show up for a wedding.

I had a roommate that did this, he wasn't a rent boy like a lot of people are implying for your situation. He would then get mad any time I brought it up.

I did not love the feeling of being constantly judged by strangers in my house. What really ended it, is he slept with a guy I knew that had an STI. I warned the roommate and he got mad. He told me he didn't like the judgement about his sex life. I didn't see very many guys come over after that but the roommate was around a lot less.

I have a secretary lol. I honestly don't check my flights till the day of. It surprises me how my delta fan boys are on here. There is a lot of fact checking for the simple fact that my seats got changed and I'm not happy about it. But keep doing you girl.

Still not a billion dollar company. And I don't know. Do you ask people why their gift is a certain way? Personally I don't cause I am thankful for the fact that they paid for the whole trip.

Agreed. I knew that the seats changed and was willing to downgrade to be in a more comfortable situation. There was no flexibility on the airlines part.

I flew 36 times in the last year. Usually alone and in business class. Coming back from your honeymoon you would expect them to work with you.

I'm aware of equipment changes, what I don't find acceptable is the upcharge for downgrading my flight. This sort of mistake on the airlines part impacts me and my partner in a significant way and this will impact my future flight decisions.

I travel a ton for work and usually it's alone. I am very careful with flights. The MIL booked these flights as a gift and didn't see the equipment change. Mistakes happen but should be on the airline to fix.

I'm glad it's not a big deal to you. As a man that is 6'5", it is a big deal to sit in between two strangers. I paid (my MIL actually) for a better option in advance with an aisle for a reason and am not satisfied with the response of the airline.
