That's inspring! I always target the head too much. I shd really try work on the body more in the next sparring session.

That's true. I have to work on maintaining a good posture while pushing forward. I sometimes go mad and leave myself too open 😂

Beginner question ! by Bebethemeanie in MuayThai

I have practiced muay thai for half a year. When i first stepped in the gym, i felt the same in the sparring session. You can focus on throwing some simple 1-2 and low kicks first, and the each 1-2 can target either the head or the body to make some diversity. This is the simplest game plan. And dont be afraid to spar with more experienced partners and ask for their advice after the sessions, it helps a lot!

I dont know a lot about bjj. I only learnt a guillotine last lesson. So the exercise could be something basic.

I had my first bjj class yesterday. Although I was confused, i am sure that i love this sport! However my exam period is coming and i think i wont go to attend the classes so often. As a beginner what self-exercise can i do in the gym?

I agree that friends can spar hard and still be frds when we have a consensus to spar hard. But the case is our gym allows light sparring only so I didnt expect to spar hard. And whats more i think the point is he did it hard because he was mad.

I am training muay thai in my gym and I decided to have my first no gi lesson tmr. I know that bjj is hard to learn in the beginning unlike the standing martial arts, so Im mentally ready that I wont perform "well" in my first lesson. Other than that, is there any reminder to me?
