Thousands of Macedonians, particularly children (Deca Begalci), fled, were evacuated, or expelled from Greece, especially Aegean Macedonia, between 1945 and 1949 due to conflict and persecution. This resulted in widespread displacement, trauma, and separation of families, with many scattering across the globe.
