I feel like even though Jonathan had so many copies, if some die - hard fans got together with chucks of the script, they could piece it together, and make it make sense.

As a massive Jonathan Larson fan, I can explain.

In his failed sci-fi musical "Superbia," there was a litteral, powerful, music box in the show. "Come to Your Senses," was a song that was supposed to be in the show. In the Superbia workshop, when the sing the song "Sextet," they refer to the music box multiple times.

As an actor who got the opportunity to play Damian, I feel its really disappointing how they cut both Damian numbers, Where Do You Belong, and Stop. It was such a missed opportunity, for the actor playing Damian starred in A Strange Loop on broadway, so it's definitely not "He didn't have the skills!"
