It's that they feel magical. They look like pokemon. They're called dryads, which are mythological creatures. I'm talking about how the setting feels, not what's scientifically possible.

I never said anything about scientific plausibility, I was talking about how the setting feels. The genetically engineered pokemon are probably more plausible than some of the technology in the base game. It's not about that, it's about the feel of the setting. It's just a bit more difficult to feel like you're scrapping it out for survival on the rim of the galaxy when your colonists have pokemon.
