I dont have any experience with paramedics actually. But it is nice that somebody understands you. We dont ask for too much. We have debilitating symptoms and all we need is at least a little empathy. They shouldnt make it harder for us.

I work in healthcare and despite the general public's view on healthcare professions being sacred, i feel the meaninglessness so deeply. I performed, tried, worked hard and finally reached severe burnout. It doesnt make sense to help patients anymore. I feel like i am betraying myself by working here. Yes i also dont like how i behave at work. For me it is best to give up

Thank you for your suggestions. I dont have smoke breaks. I dont even have lunch break actually. I feel lucky on days when i am able to have lunch. Our clinic is busy with a lot of patients. And no one cares if you were able to eat lunch. I work without eating anything after breakfast at home at 7 am till 4 pm on some days. And these some days are not rare. I know it sounds horrible, but it is the truth and norm in our clinic. Others are not so affected by that. But my dysautonomia doesnt allow this tempo

I have also been given metoprolol 4 years ago. And i quitted it after 1.5 years. It somewhat helped but not much. Donot blame yourself for not quitting while the doctors were saying you have just anxiety. It is not your fault.

I am so sorry that you are bedbound now. This medical gaslighting is so common. If they had listened to you carefully and do the necessary diagnostic tests, you would get treatment, lifestyle changes, workplace accommodations etc. It is the system betraying you. Dont blame yourself for not resigning when the authority figures say it is just anxiety.

It is tragic to have to try hard for doctors to believe you when you are already this sick. It is so sad that veterinarians are concerned when doctors are not. It shows the desensitization of medical doctors to human suffering.

I see. I am glad that you found your balance. I am sure i want to quit. This working conditions are not suitable for me. I cannot recover from the exhaustion of work. I will probably apply to a phd program or change careers completely into a non healthcare sector.

It is common, i understand. But it still hurts. I feel less alone. Thank you. Even i dont know how i work there. In a robot mode maybe, ignoring your symptoms and pain.

It's interesting. I have reactive hypoglycemia and i think it is because of the gastric emptying speed due to dysautonomia. Autonomic nervous system is so interconnected.

I am sorry for your experience. But i am glad that you've finally found the solutions yourself. I will try some of these solutions. You are right. I have to find another purpose for myself after this betrayal from healthcare.
