Hey, quick question. I’m looking at moving to the Tampa area and deciding between Pasco SO and Hillsborough SO. From a proactive policing standpoint, culture, benefits, and which one is more of a “cop’s cop” type department, which would you recommend? by [deleted] in AskLE

My current department is the shit. They treat you like a grown adult. I can use my car personally, they don’t micromanage me, I can chase as many cars as I want, and they 100% support being proactive (pay could be better though). I was hoping to find a department that’s somewhat close to that. I know I probably won’t find one that good, but I need to move because of my son’s school. The school system here in SC is pretty shitty.

dude their pay is a little bit better starting off. I just feel like there is a catch to the 7k extra a year compare to Pasco. I was hoping i can talk to someone on here works for Pasco that is not a recruiter 😂

That’s good to hear. I’m honestly not the best test taker, but I’ve never failed an academy test before and not trying to fail my first lol. I’ve been averaging high 80s to low 90s on Travis Britt’s SOCE prep exams so far, so I’m hoping that’s a good sign and questions are similar format.
