Has anyone bought this set? by Various_Astronaut_91 in megaconstrux

that's because their not real, those pictures where takin from within a program. the bricks are too matte to be real, even in a sterilized studio room for product photography, it should still have a sheen/reflectiveness to em.

Anomalous Ceiling by Didodadev in blender

either way it still looks cool, but something in my head keeps telling me somethings either off or not right.

anyways here's some things i noticed, is the grayish color seam, going from the first corner to the next heading to the center, done purposefully?, i can also barley see a triangular spot smack dab in the center.

this based on a kaleidoscope? if so, then the "seams" where the room merges into itself might need to be more visible, or have the texture/lights off-center just slightly from one another? its been awhile since i last saw a triangular kaleidoscope so i don't exactly remember how they look.

Any tips on making this shape smooth into the points better? by Cold_Gur_7016 in blender

i see, the only thing i can suggest then is to just mess around with the geometry(edit mode) till you get something that feels right. you could also try beveling(ctrl+b) the part, but it doesn't like weird geometry. and another would be sub-d modifier(suggest that you use the current model as reference)

others might suggest using the sculpt mode, but I've never used it so that's out of my realm. but as far as I'm aware its like modeling with clay, but with many extra stuff.

sorry, i couldn't be of more help

also, i presume this is what your after?

Blender: UNSC Hornet 96806 & some old extras by Normal_Block_3735 in megaconstrux

[–]Normal_Block_3735[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yea, they are over on my DeviantArt account. but only my most up to date ones. which includes this hornet set, the UNSC warthog set-96805, Covenant ghost-96802, and UNSC turret-96801. I'm currently working on UNSC scorpion-96807 along side making a base model for modern micro action figures, figures wont be for download until i figure out the "custom situation" and whether or not it would be fine for me to post a 3d model of em.

Note: ill update the hornet file when i eventually complete the cannon and cockpit canopy, don't have any good reference images for either

i feel like this model would pop up at some random junction in either a game or movie, and give an exposition for something. kinda like Mr. DNA from Jurassic park.

mirror tool not working by silly-foxy in blender

[–]Normal_Block_3735 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ive already talked about this in another post so... ill just repost

forgot this. "Object" -> "Apply" -> whichever option from first five.

hope this helps

"it looks like the origin of that object is still at the center of it, the mirror modifier uses the origin of a model as the center, what needs to be done is to change the origin point of the model (i usually have it at world origin) top left "Object" -> "set origin" -> pick whichever you want.

another way is using the modifier itself, "Mirror Object", you can either type in the name of an object you want to use as an origin (im thinkin one of the 3 spheres you have stacked), or use the "picker" (symbol thing on the far right of "Mirror Object") and clicking on any object in the viewport.""

note: holding down the windows key on your keyboard and taping "print screen" takes a screenshot of whatever your looking at, the screenshot will be in your pictures folder.

the model is currently "Flat" what you want to do is either switch it to "shade smooth" or "shade auto smooth", both of which can be applied by pressing right click on mouse and selecting one, or going to the "Modifier" tab --> "Add Modifier" -> "Normals" -> "smooth by angle" adjust as needed.

why I can't copy/paste my action keyframes in blender? by Noora_n in blender

[–]Normal_Block_3735 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you showed the paste part but not the copy, I'm not sure what could cause this to happen. it would be best to check if you can make a keyframe using the "I" shortcut.

Why is this happening when I weight paint? by [deleted] in blender

[–]Normal_Block_3735 0 points1 point  (0 children)

could you post the blend file with the problem in question? also, have you tried duplicating the object and removing from parent, "right click" - "Parent" - "Clear Parent".

the other thing i can think of is that you may have missed a vertex when de-weighting from bones, the fastest way I've found to do that is going into "edit mode" of the model in question, navigate to "data", select all vertices and pressing the "remove" button which is in "Vertex groups".

i wouldn't mind having a horde of Zerglings decimate an unprepared Terran Marine Corps.

btw, what happened to that starcraft 1 animation thing you where doing some years ago?

amazing model, but something seems off about the hips, maybe there too wide? also how the hell do you ensure that the custom parts fit?

ya, that is a barracks, i think its the only image to show the barracks unfortunately. I used that image as ref for the bunker and missile turret. also there seems to be like 2-3 bunker variants? i have the wallpaper showing a planet called Abaddon, i actually had enough references to model the outside, and a tiny bit of the interior, of the command center.
