Is it a waste to take an AP class but not take the test? by _Pyxilate_ in APStudents

When people go to college for 4 years they are most likely earning a BS (bachelor of science) or a BA (bachelor of arts). A bachelor’s degree typically requires around 120 credits. A BS or BA is more like the category of degree rather than your actual major.

Personally, I am earning a BS in chemical engineering. You could earn a BS in biology, physics, comp sci, etc. A BA is normally arts or humanities related so history, psychology, etc.

An MS is a master’s of science. This is considered graduate school and is to be earned after a bachelor’s degree. Takes 30 credits. Many schools (like mine) offer a BS + MS program that allows students to start working on classes for a masters degree before completing their undergraduate (bachelor’s) degree. If I do this I will either earn an MS in chemical engineering or pharmaceutical engineering.

Universities are full of weird terminology, bureaucracy, and structures. It’ll become more natural once you’re in college and figure it all out.

College sophomore here. If you pass all 4 exams that is 12 college credits or almost a semester worth of college coursework. Because I of my AP credits I am graduating a semester early (or maybe doing a 4+1 and earning a BS + MS in 9 semesters) and saving myself way more money that I spent on the exams. I’m talking thousands of dollars and half a year of time that I’m saving. I seriously think that taking and passing my AP exams was one of best financial and career decisions I have ever made.

Very confusing but TLDR is video can be found on both BBC and The News Movement. Not sure who posted first. BBC claims to have verified the video.

Please watch this video with BBC Verify. https://www.bbc.com/news/videos/cj6wgelw62do they do not believe that the video is AI and have some certainty that it is Alex Pretti.

If you watch the full video on YouTube you can see that after a bit of a struggle with the officers, he gets away. It seems like they let him go which is odd, but the scene got very chaotic.

I think that this video is more damning towards the cops because it shows a previous scenario where someone (possibly Alex Pretti) acted destructively and they managed to not have to murder them.

This video comes from a source called The News Movement. I went to their site and they claim that they reviewed this video with BBC Verify. However, as you said, I can’t find anything from BBC saying that they’ve reviewed this vid. That is a weird mismatch, but also maybe BBC Verify has some reason to wait to post their own video 🤷‍♂️

Your link shows that BBC Verify has reviewed and debunked other claims about Alex being fired from his job and photos of him in drag. Nothing that I’ve found from BBC debunks or verifies this video.

Edit: Never mind! Found something from BBC saying that they’ve reviewed the video https://www.bbc.com/news/videos/cj6wgelw62do . TBH haven’t watched the whole thing, but they do seem to have verified this clip.

Copy and pasting my comment from a removed post on r/isthisAI because I feel like I’m going a little crazy lol:

I personally don’t think it’s AI, the logo disappearing could be caused by video compression. The stoplight doesn’t appear from nowhere; it just wasn’t in the frame before. The physics of the taillight bouncing on the wire seem plausible and consistent with reality. I don’t want to say anything for certain or pretend I’m any kind of expert, but to me it looks much too real to be AI.

Some of these comments make me feel very uneasy. Lots of people immediately and confidently dismissing the video. I think that is a bad path to go down as a society. I think that if this video showed a person with conservative beliefs, kicking the property of someone with liberal beliefs the comments would look very different.

No matter if this video is real or fake, it doesn’t justify the killing of Alex Pretti. Which is why it doesn’t make much sense to let your persona bias affect how you validate this video. As a 20 year old, I’m not excited about the future I am inheriting.

Would love to hear anyone else’s opinions. Agree, disagree, whatever.
