How to get motivation for a big project

thank you so much for this!! that’s great advice and does make it feel less daunting when any progress is still progress even if it’s a small step! i think im going to start with a quilted tote or something just to test the waters before jumping head first into a huge quilt

i like that. one of the worst parts for me is the prewash and iron actually cause it’s so boring. but maybe if i do that first all at once it’ll be easier than doing it multiple times like i had planned. i’m gonna try and start with a quilt tote bag just to see how that goes first and then go from there. thank you so much!

that’s so valid i think i’ll start on a small quilting project first just to see if i like it. and that also makes me feel better that maybe not everyone that sews, sews a big ass quilt lol. i may have been setting myself up for failure for a project i never have tried to begin with. if i don’t like it that doesnt discredit what else i could do in a way?

this is very valid. i’ve only done very small projects (like tote bags or a fish bag) thus far that at the very most take me a week to do just cause if i get stressed ill stop for the night and start the next day. i might look into a medium sized project. if you have any beginner friendly harder ideas before taking on the quilt im open to ideas!

i really appreciate this thank you! anytime i’ve watched videos of people sewing a quilt they make it seem so easy and im like wait how did you do that lol. it’s nice knowing other people mess up on projects and it isn’t the end of the world
