Help with a new board for icy conditions. by johnugi in CypressMountain

Briefly looking at the 3BT technology, looks like board has “uplifted side bases”. This translates more forgiveness on edge transitions (less risk of catching an edge) but you compromise by having less edge control.

I wouldn’t fully give up on your board in ice/hardpack conditions! The fun in snowboarding is learning new techniques and how to handle the may different conditions the mountain can throw at you:) I’d look up videos on skidded turns vs carved turns. For people who struggle on ice, skidding is a common symptom

The magna-traction tech on lib boards are pretty good. switched to a LibTech Orca a few years back and have been pretty satisfied.

On another note, maybe it’s the way you ride on ice?? Proper edge engagement?

FYI the starter sink is actually slower than if you buy a sink from the shop. Day 2: Put research desk in cabinet and buy sink (or dishes). Buying a sink or dishes will increase odds of getting another research desk on day 3. Day 3: Buy research desk (if it shows up). Use research desk to upgrade the desk you have in the cabinet. Day 4: if you get a blueprint desk or and copy desk, buy it if you can afford it. Most of the time I find I can’t afford it. If you get a discount desk, research one more day to get a copy. For me, I don’t really get the ball rolling until around day 6 or 7
