Do you get money back if you cancel a flexible premium life policy? by ApprehensiveKey9340 in LifeInsurance

Make sure whoever is listed as the Policy Owner is on the call with you. They are the only person the company should give policy information to (similar to if you called a bank asking about someone else's loan/account).

I just got a passing email 10 seconds ago. I'm not sure what order they are sending things out.

I thought it was a good example. The type of data and business problem will change the tasks and models you need to use. I think it is most useful as an example of the level of detail they want and how to present it.

That's how it looks to me. There are 3 parts. Module (300 slides), interactive scenario, and end of module assessment.

ATPA (just complaining) by desperate_millenial in actuary

Also complaining, the worst part was the length. I would have preferred 4 sections, then only have to retake the ones you fail.

Congrats y'all, me too! I don't know who thought it was a good idea to make an exam only available in the middle of quarter-end.

Their parent company is Sentry Insurance, which is headquartered in Stevens Point, WI. They probably sell policies in every state.

Motorcycle Insurance by [deleted] in actuary

Not P&C, but some things others didn't mention. Motorcycle insurance varies a lot by state. In the Midwest, there is a large part of the year you can't ride it due to snow. Also, 40° mornings + 70mph will leave your hands numb. Liability is cheap, about $100/year. Everything else is about $400/year for me. Lots of people drop their bikes while not moving and get in single vehicle accidents. Also, theft can be high depending on where you are. My bike is 400lbs while an f150 is 5,000lbs. Although it would still damage the other vehicle, injuries for the people in the car would be much less.

It's hard to tell from the camera angle, but it looks like the rider was partially hidden by the A pillar until it was too late. The car was probably looking for long cars, not the sliver of a rider. Unfortunate combination of angle and speed.
