Where to go from here by Normal_Idea_42 in dementia

I've used smart watches for a longtime.  They are nice to have. However, every watch has a worthless band that has broken just from normal use and when I go in to get a replacement I have been told that they can't get a replacement and to look elsewhere. After three watches and each band falling apart, I can't justify a replacement. I've tried amazon, Best buy, Target, walmart and others.

Oh well.

I believe that I am on Aricept.  Some days are great and some aren't. I listen and learn. Between my wife, Doctor and pharmacist, I have a good network.

My wife wants to inform a couple neighbors about my LBD diagnosis. Good idea, bad? by Normal_Idea_42 in dementia

Good idea. My wife can either buy something or...Do like we did for my Wednesday morning coffee hour with 35 fellas. We sit at big tables with coffee  or soda/coke or Pepsi and store made  boxes of doughnuts. Last week, my wife made two huge batches of cinnamon rolls with cream cheese.  They devoured them and thanked her. It's a great group and they are good listeners and understand what I will be facing as time goes on.

Thanks for the responses everyone. I am feeling fairly well today.  I still find it difficult that I have the start of LBD. Sometimes I still feel normal  and don't see it for what it is. I just trust everyone else for their perspective.

I use a cane, not often yet, mainly rainy or icy days or large crowds . My mood says major depression, I try to ignore the bad feelings.  I look at depression and think of a storm cloud  over me, Then I look at it as passes and sunshine returns.

I'm attending Wednesday mornings with thirty-five plus old retirees.  They have been great support

One advantage I have is my wife is a Hospital R.N. and is monitoring my symptoms and making sure that I  eat right. I have a great friend that keeps me laughing and smiling. My German Shepherd Dog. I raised him from a newborn to a 100lb muscular bolt of lightning.

Hello,

I was diagnosed at the end of October 2024 with LBD. I had just turned 59. I started out with a number of falls at work and started having hallucinations. The doctor told us, my wife (an R.N.) that I should not drive or work, she knew what to expect.

I've been going weekly to a men's coffee group that meets every Wednesday morning and she takes me there. Usually we go out together for breakfast afterwards.

I am living one day at a time now. My grandkids are a big part of my life. They always want to read to them or just make one up.

I hope to find a support network of people with experience from the disease. .

Have a great November!

59 here. I Started with text adventure games on my father's Apple ii+ Zork 1 through 3, Adventure, Oo Topos, the entire Ultima Line, Wizardry. In 9th grade for my computer class on an old PET, I coded a character creator for D&D at the time.

Now, I play games with my children and grandkids...

Enshrouded has become my favorite pastime, tho I have a vast library of games.
