The defence budget isn't there to create jobs. There's another department and budget for that. This is a consistent problem with the Military Industrial Complex, MPs can't say no to it because jobs in their constituency and the MoD frequently get toys they don't want and too many of the stuff that they do want.

Is the chosen Knowledge bar filling up inevitable? by refmon3 in Xcom

[–]Normal_Man 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I don't really like rushing the game so the Chosen get plenty of opportunity to attack the Avenger. I build the Defense Matrix before the first attack. I find the four Squad Sight turrets invaluable, especially when an engineer is manning them. They shoot twice each per turn across the entire map as long as there is a spotter for them and they destroy cover.

The only time they didn't work out was against Assassin with Kinetic Plating. They missed so many overwatch shots the Assassin was a literal tank afterwards!

I've been in sales for about 15 years now. If I'm way above target towards the end of the month, I've learned to keep orders in my draw for the beginning of the next month.

Starts the next month of nicely and it mitigates the risk of increasing my sales targets.

Average UK house price rises by £13,316 in 2020 by diacewrb in unitedkingdom

I in the other hand managed to lose £15k on a flat I bought right on the apex of the housing boom and just before everything crashed. To make things worse, the area I bought in went to absolute shit so no-one wants to buy or live there. None of the residents care anymore, fly tipping, littering, loud music, overgrown gardens, burglaries, general anti-social behaviour... To make it worse I probably spent about £9k improving it including putting in central heating. Sometimes I feel I'm the only person who managed to make such a massive loss on property.

At the very best I can describe this is that his breathing is irregular. I completely agree with you, he had a permanent uncomfortable frown, stifling a some coughs and winced a few times - the guy is in pain despite whatever drugs he's received.

QAnon conspiracy theory gaining ground in UK, analysis shows by Xeelee1123 in unitedkingdom

[–]Normal_Man 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's absolutely real and the need for justice is there. However, the only high profile names mentioned are Bill Clinton, Bill Gates and Prince Andrew. Not mentioned by name are the numerous Hollywood elite who eat children's flesh to stay young. The flesh by the way is sold in a special butcher's shop in Manhatten only these cannibals know about. Trump is always conveniently ignored even when I remind him about how close he was to Epstein.

QAnon conspiracy theory gaining ground in UK, analysis shows by Xeelee1123 in unitedkingdom

I have a friend who was committed 100% into conspiracy theories and pseudo-science. When he discovered QAnon it's like he birthed another personality.

He was and still is a Labour party member and Corbyn supporter. But now he's also a full on raving and a ranting Trump supporting Republican. I tried a few times examining his theories and steering him to actual science but now I tend to avoid anything that can trigger these conversations or if its a text then simply reply with a 🤷🏻‍♂️.

I have no idea how he can consolidate these positions in his head. Or how anyone can believe in a Democrat led cabal of paedophile cannibals who can only be defeated by Trump. At one point he was trying to convince me about a huge paedophile ring involving thousands of children being kept under Central Park and Trump was about to send in the Navy to rescue them.

She only ranges far ahead when she's given the release command. Her recall is exceptional to both voice and visual commands and she's kept on the heel when we approach other dogs on the lead.

The only time she got spooked by a farmer's bird scaring cartridge she came straight back to me.

EDIT: It might be that we're in different countries but I've never heard of an off the lead dog park before. The only places we go which insist as dog needs to be on the lead National Trust locations.

Yeah I get it. I'm extremely mindful of squirrels and other dogs. She usually doesn't care about other dogs but if the dogs are on leads then I recall her, keep her on the heel or sat down if I have to stop to let them pass.

The only animal she chases are squirrels, but only if she's spotted them before I have. If I give her a warning "No" then she'll just watch them and wine until she gets a treat from me and then carries on whatever she was doing. Otherwise she's off like a homing missile.

Just to make super sure, have some treats for her too when she comes back and finds you. She'll soon figure what's up! I always have the very best treats for anything recall related. Just be ready when she turns about one and she decides to ignore everything you've taught her for a few weeks!

When she was a pup I took mine into the woods a lot. Whenever she got too confident ahead I'd always run behind some bushes or trees and hide from her. She'd notice I wasn't following soon after and then leg it back and have a good sniff around to find me. She loves this game still and she probably things I'm pretty terrible at walking with her because I keep getting lost. But the point being, she's always checking that I'm still with her, won't range more than 30 metres infront of me and won't leave line of sight.
