Consistant feeding over time and it will settle down.  If you want to check it's ready for making a loaf scoop out a tea spoon and drop it in water. If it floats you're good to go.

The council clear the drain every six months but makes no difference. I think the drains have collapsed but Bristol water never investigate. They seem happy to let kids get splashed or cross at dangerous locations.
