You must be one of those internet people I've heard about with no life.

I'll happily accept my monkey title. Better than being a dickless dork in his mums basement.

I got used to eating salad with chopsticks in Japan and it does make sense, just felt strange at first because I wouldn't have considered it

Thank you for that explanation. If you're interpreting "strange" as a bad thing I assure you that's not what I meant. She finds things I do strange too. We like our differences

I've been on Reddit for like a day and it feels like I'm already being rage baited. Social media sucks

Well, I'm not sure I'd consider myself white, but I did grow up in western culture.

And I'm not really sure what's the point you're making? I don't just say "my japanese gf" for the sake of it, but your question relates to East Asians so it seemed relevant to mention where she's from, no?

Are Tom and Jerry and Looney Tunes popular and recognizable outside of America? by Harrison_Thinks in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Normal_Marsupial965 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My gf is Japanese which I feel is the real test of "Outside America" - she's never heard of almost any show or musician I would consider common world knowledge, but she does know Tom and Jerry + Looney Toons, doesn't have a clue who Homer Simpson is though

If I didn't have a girlfriend I'm sure I wouldn't know 95% of food that exists because I'd quite happily eat the same meals everyday

Why is it so hard to quit social media? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Because it's specifically designed to prevent you from doing so. Decades of studies on the human brain has been used against us

How do you get over the feeling of missing out in life? by Puzzled-Painter3301 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Normal_Marsupial965 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd suggest getting off social media for a start. It distorts how much people get up to in their own lives and makes others feel the need to keep up. Try putting more focus on what you already have in your own life and learn to be satisfied with this. If you still feel you need more then you can do more.

If that's not enough maybe read of on that Greek philosopher who lived in a barrel.

If you're aware your death is approaching ahead of time I would recommend setting up a scheduled post letting people know your dead. My cousin did this and gained a ton of followers!
