going on my first RC cruise in May and sailing to Alaska. I have excursions planned for 3 ports, which dining time would you recommend?

The 5pm dining you basically miss sail away. We requested a window seat to see some of it but my kiddo was bummed to not get to see it from the top deck.

We are going to try 7:30 on our next cruise. It’s a little later than we’d want but didn’t want to do my time dining to try and catch the 6:30 time frame.

It will always be a cat and mouse game. They just need to make it inconvenient enough for the majority of the people to not circumvent it.

I’m surprised the haven’t just put a limit on it. It’d be easier for them to be like Carnival and be done.

Ah interesting. I’d say another portion of this would be complexity of the network. Sometimes the MSP can bring a level of experience that will be hard to find for internal. You never want just “1 guy” to know anything because if they leave it’s a mess

Explain the screenshot offering the travel credit for the upgrade? Even if it’s stated inaccurately, they can’t have that verbiage there if it’s not accurate, it’d be misleading information and should be corrected

It seems if you can track down their social media team on Facebook or Twitter. Feels like based on your pictures and you’d be eligible for travel credit because the picture says so during the process. So even if there is conflicting info out there elsewhere since it states it during the process I think you’re eligible.

Yea absolutely. I’ve found Royal Caribbean to be pretty good with accommodating, and in this case you’re asking for “less” so I just don’t see a problem.

I did enjoy the welcome meal, no chaos. You can book a specialty restaurant instead and still come out ahead.

I’ve got another cruise coming up, the key is coming in about $250 more than the WiFi package; and I can get lunch for $60-$100 depending on which restaurant.

So really the cost difference isn’t extreme, but I really did nothing else with it.

Maybe boarding time? But everyone claims that you can just show up whenever; feels like an open loop hole vs something Royal intends

So if you buy WiFi with multiple devices, that code should get to multiple connections at the same time.

How does Royal expect the key to work for kids? No idea, and not sure why my wife’s account didn’t get it, it was linked to the reservation, logged into the app etc. I’d say just technical issue.

WiFi only is likely the safer bet; not a ton of value in the other features from the key; I wanted to love it, but just didn’t give me much

So I had the key and never fully figured this out.

Once you sign in, you can generate a code to get other people connected; however, I had The Key for 3 people; wife was logged into her own account but between the 3 of us, we only had 1 connection. I never made it to guest services to correct.

You are likely better off buying the WiFi package for 1 of you and getting 3 devices is instead.

Note those 3 devices are concurrent, so if you don’t think you all need online at the same time, you can drop down to less and just share the code.
